I was just thinking about tinkering with my army and was looking for robes and such to give them. So I went over to GW and checked out the upgrade kit and... it only comes with 3 robed bottoms and 3 boltguns?

This box set contains plastic components for upgrading any multi-part plastic Space Marine squad to a squad of Dark Angels.

This has me confused. Can someone clarify that this is true or false? It just seems asinine to only get 3 standard weapons in an 'upgrade' kit that states its for an entire squad the standard of which is 10 models.

Also, is there any kit I can get that has the robes but doesn't cover nearly all of the legs? I was hoping for my guys to show at least one of the legs but still have the overall monk robe feel. Is there one available or would I be best going with some green stuff?

This is what I'm going for if it helps.

It comes with doubles of the robed bodies and bolters.

so 6 robes and 6 bolters? Correct?
Odd number to choose when squads come in 5 or 10, but thank you. Any info on the type of robe?

It comes with 3 sets of robes on the sprue. One set is the advancing legs with the robes open, the next is with legs spread in a stable shooting stance(no armor visible other than the feet) and on the back of the robes there's three buttons that go up the back, and the third is a set of legs in that same stance but without the buttons and with a bit of "inner robe" showing on the back.

Oh, I think the last set of legs that they consider as part of it is the Deathwing Terminator legs.

Then it comes with a total of 10 robbed bodies. From left to right, 2, 4, 4. I don't remember the number of bolters, but I think its also 10.

there are enough bolters for the entiree unit in the package. IMHO, the upgrade kit is so much more worth purchasing than the veterans box, you get twice the stuff for about 20% less, and the only things you need are bases and maybe some command sprue stuff...

Yeah avoid the Vet box like the plague. Upgrade comes with 2x sprues as the vets. Doesnt come with the sprue from the tac squad with the plasma gun, melta, etc or bases and it costs MORE! Wtf GW?

The Upgrade Kit is a fantastic deal. I've got enough from two Veteran kits to make 2 5 man Devastator Squads, and have enough left over for a 10 man Tactical.

Oi! Shouldve asked a few months ago eheh... vet box was kinda unimpressive. Thanks guys! Looks like the upgrade box is the way to go, will be getting it when I get the funds for it.

Sorry, I haven't bought a Dark Angel kit since the time when they first came out, and I only bought one box to make a plastic Chaplain and, later, a couple of Dark Angel Deathwatch Marines, so forgive me if this is a stupid question:

Does the upgrade box really come with 10 Marines?

The "Dark Angels Upgrade Kit" is just two of the Dark Angels Chapter Upgrade sprues.

But yeah, there's more than enough for a Tactical Squad and a character or two. If I didn't already have everything clipped off sprue, I could give you an accurate count.
