4-5 years after kicking the Warhammer habit, I'm back.

I stopped playing partway through college since I couldn't ever find anyone to play with, though I never really gave up hope. I've lugged my collection with me each move I've made. It's just comforting to have. And now, it's all paid off.

I live near Washington, DC, and the other day my brother in law tells me "Hey, guess where I just spent the weekend?"

"I dunno, where?"

"You're a geek- you'll appreciate this, I was in Baltimore with my friends for Games Day!"

wat? You. Went. To. Games. Day. Without. Me?????

"Oh, I didn't know you played! Yeah, I started playing with my friend. You got any figures?"

"Do I!"

So, I lent him my Dwarf... I won't call it an army... maybe a small battalion... around 30 models... and got out my High Elf force and began fixing things up. I hadn't packed them greatly, so about 1/2 the figures were dinged or worse in some way. Shame on me.

Now, most of them are fixed and I'm putting together and painting the guys that I hadn't before "The Great Packing." My wife tells me that I can't afford any more hobbies (I also brew beer), but I told her it would be a bonding experience between her brother and I. She grudgingly let me buy some new paints and modeling supplies. I got out my 6th edition rulebook and had her look at the pictures, asking her which ones she would want to paint.

She picked Skaven! Joy! Before long, we're going to have to order a starter set... Skaven for her... more High Elves for me! Once I'm done with my current guys, of course.

So... anyone in the Northern Virginia area looking for another guy for their group? (brother in law lives in Blacksburg and I can't get down there much) I'm pretty close to the Chantilly Game Parlor, and was thinking of attending a few events when I'm done painting my guys but it would be nice to know someone going in.
