So Death company.... The Flaw of the Blood angels...Do they actually belive they are Sanguinius or are the Sanguinary priests having a laugh or some sort of grip of chaos driving them????

Yes,they do believe they actually are the primarch,sangiuaigus.
This being is from a gene`seed flaw,and i quote lexicanum:The gene-seed however is also affected by a dreadful flaw, which makes its brethren susceptible to the Black Rage and the Red Thirst.Those who are deeply affected are sent to the death company or are locked away in the tower of the lost for life,the place that those who succumb to red thirst.

But Wasnt the reason Sanguinius's death theroes went through all (I mean ALL) Blood angels without the Help of some sort of chaos??? Sure why didn't The Dark Angels go insane After El'Johnson death??? There must be some sort of Chaos Death Company maker???

probably because the tainted/imperfect gene seed of Sanguinus, so when he died the psychic link to his chapter shocked them, of course feeling your father was murdered probably has something to do with it

I don't think the Death Company actually believe that they are Sanguinius, I think that they just can no longer understand the difference.

Note: The Higher Ranked Dark Angels seem to believe that El' Johnson isn't dead.

Yes and how was Sanguinius Tainted /Imperfect gene seed created??? As far as i know the Baby Primarch's were sucked into the warp and were trying to be Terminated...But they couldnt due to the powerful enchantments put on them by the emporer of mankind...But the chaos duders were going to try and corrupt them as much as they could...And alas Sanguinius had big white fluffy things of death = Super chaos screw up!!! So the Death company were (Technically) Created Through Chaos...Win!

Obviously the defect in the geen seed causes them to go somewhat insane, but they dont think they are sanguinius.
They do however get struck by visions of his death, which pushes them to insanity to the point where they go beyond control and the rage takes over.

what? only sanguinus land anywhere near to the warp, hence his warp mutation, primarch were scattered so the emprah can be delayed , otherwise they will all grow on the same time, in the same place, and be ready much earlier, hence why chaos scattered them

Yes, Magnus had a far greater connection to the warp. Sanguinius's mutations are really his only alteration, and I'm not entirely sure that the Emperor didn't intend for Sanguinius to appear as an avengining angel when he was created.

Sanguinus on the other hand is loyal and one of the nice guys, he probably held back alot of stress

I'm pretty sure he vented he anger a couple of times, on such occassion being the time where he broke the Bloodthirster's back over his knee before the Palace Gates.

But Sanguinus stayed loyal, despite his mutations, and his gene seed defect, i am not sure if the gene seed have defects would the Primarch be "imperfect"

In the anthology "Legends of the space marines" is a story called "At Gaius Point" by Aaron Dembski-Bowden that I think is relevant. It gives a first person view of what it's like to be a Flesh tearer in the grip of the Black rage.

As to whether this is all due to chaos. Of course it is. It's related to a psychic power and they all stem from chaos. People need to get away from seeing chaos as a bad thing. Come join us in chaos! You know you want to, we throw the best parties

Some Chapters has Gene Seed Flaws, Every Blood Angel and Successor Chaptper (Save the Lamentors) The chapters of the Cursed Founding, Ect. It has nothing to do with the warp, Not even Imperial Science is Perfect. Things mess up.

The whole "Do they believe they are Sanguinius" thing is situational. In the Blood Angels books(James Swallow), some Believed they Were Sanguinius, and others believed they were fighting at his side on Horus' Ship.

So, to get this topic back on topic and away from the Dark Angels segue.


From what I remember, when Sanguinius was killed be Horus, Horus had used such a powerful and evil psychic attack that it created a permanent flaw in Sanguinius gene seed implants, and then due to the horrendous lose of Blood Angels when his body was recovered they actually harvested his gene seed and used that to start spawning more Blood Angels, thus leaving the genetic memory of the attack in every Blood Angel. When they fall to the Black Rage don't think that they are Sanguinius but spend almost every waking moment at least on some level reliving the torment, horror, and pain that Sanguinius felt at the moment he was hit by Horus' attack.

In the old 2001 Chapter Approved Tycho is depicted in a short story as believing he is Sanguinius.

I thought they all though they were him when they succumb.

I can't quote the source but wasn't the flaw due to the BA genestock being mostly destroyed and having to kick start a new batch using the now dead and with OMG Horus just killed me thoughts in sanguinious geneseed?

Of course I'm talking about El'Jonson, why would Sanguinus be taken to THE ROCK lol?

I think he was having a joke suggesting Luther was the good one and was taken away to heal by the Watchers while El' raves his insanity from a cell. Or I could be reading too much into it and he's refering to Luther being taken by the DA and held in the cell in the rock.

No, I'm not.

Luther asserts that EL'JONSON was carried away by the Watchers deep into the Rock.

Only they know about his presence there.

The Chapter Master is aware of Luther's presence, however.

The Death Company brothers are overwhelmed with Sanguinius's memories, so yeah they kind of think they are HIM but they're in a raging fugue state and not really thinking properly. This flaw has grown within the Blood Angels and not other chapters because of the way they activate their geneseed. Initiates drink the Sanguinary Priest's blood out of the chalices. Supposedly a trace of Sanguinius's blood is still present and it is "psychicly charged" if you will, with his death.
Eventually when they are preparing for battle they can lose themselves in the stored primarch's personality

Gene seed is impregnated with memories of the primarch. Blood Angels often dream of his life, they do so for many months when they are first initiated.

In older books it said that the Blood Angels gene seed banks were corrupted or destroyed during the Horus Hearesy and so Geneseed had to be taken from Sanguineous dead body in order to regenerate the legion.

As such the memory of his death is also impregnated in the geneseed. Sanguineous was psychic and had the gift of foresight/prophesy. It has been suggested that he already knew he would not survive when he fought Hours.

The Blood Angels sometimes see visions of this final battle they live out Sanguineous last memories, fighting Horus, knowing they are about to die.

When these visions break through into reality they send the marine mad, as flashes from a battle 10,000 years ago flood his mind, and he believes he is the primarch. This is the black rage.
