I love everything that goes on in the Universe, and am just fascinated with planets. I always have been, and am a bit geeky on the subject. Now I saw this infomercial a weekish ago and I want to buy this SO FRIGGIN BADLY but its $400 without shipping. I thought DAKKA would find this rather cool so enjoy the vid.
Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it.
You're a mechanic, right? I'm sure you could spend some time in a junkyard and come up with something that looks at least that good. Learn a little bit about electro plating and you could probably even chrome the gears.

I'm very very interested in the planets of our solar system and other stuff in the universe, but I've never been into the position of planets.

Good luck making precice calculations to get all the gears displaying the right time and moving at the right speed. It's a whole project to make a working one.
