I stoped using my orcs and goblins army nearly a year ago after only playing it three times and deciding that I dislike the army. A majority of the models I have sitting do not seem to be salvageable in terms of changing them over to 40k. But I do have 10 spider riders which I can easily remove the goblins from and attach marines to for count as bikers.
Being that they are spiders I am sure I want them to be themed for a god but I am unsure of which. These would not be used in tourni's, only for casual play so ensuring that they have the twin linked bolters mounted on them is unnecessary. So the question is, which god would spiders be easier associated with? I had orginally thought Slaneesh or nurgle. Thank you for reading.

A full marine will be rather large to ride on a spider. How about just using a marine from the waist up and mounting it on a spider as some sort of creepy mutation, i.e. not as a bike?

Or combine two spiders into one larger 16-limbed beasty? - That might work better as a bike-sized beast.

Hmm, I reckon Nurgle personally, and I agree with Clang they will be too small to hold a marine, but mount them waist up and you could run them as Possesed? or maybe even Raptors as Spiders can jump pretty well.

Either way, It would be very Soul Drinkers with the spidey legs.

I'm both orderly and rational. I value control, information, and order. I love structure and hierarchy, and will actively use whatever power or knowledge I have to maintain it. At best, I am lawful and insightful; at worst, I am bureaucratic and tyrannical.

I would lean Nurgle as spiders are often venomous and the poison/disease is his thing, though I could definitely see Tzeentch. Slaanesh or Khorne not so much... spiders do cause fear in a lot of people but they tend to be not so aggressive... at least around me. then again i whack them so hard their legs fly off, but meh. Nurgle/Tzeentch would be my choice.

Those spiders are easily as large as Fenrisian Wolves and the two-ton power armor doesn't look silly on those, right?

In all seriousness, though...

That actually sounds pretty neat.

What? Goblin Spiders are tiny. Thunderwolves are anything but. Though I do think Canis and his Dog look silly, but that's because it doesn't look like a wolf.

I thought so too.

In the same way, do you think I could use Juggernauts for Khorne bikers? Or are they too big? (Sorry if this is hijacking)

I had thought of doing the upper half of a marine ontop of the spider, which would be fairly easy to make look nice with alot of extra plaguey growths and such.
I agree that the spiders are kinda small compared to bikes, but they do come on the same size bases iirc.
I wouldnt count them as raptors just because spiders can jump, but that is an interesting idea. I already have 17 raptors , otherwise I might jump at that idea.

For spiders i woudl go with Tzeentch personally. As for the WYSIWYG factor of the twin bolters. if you're makign them as mutated marines, coudln't they run around on spidey legs holding a normal bolter in each hand?

spiders would be far too flimsey to khorne. They also don't actually represent any particular form of decay. I could possibly see it going for Tzeench, with the whole strands in the web of fate analogy.

But the only real option is to make them for slaanesh marines and model all of the spider's legs to be phalluses.

I think they would work for Tzeentch due to whole mutation thing (Lord of Change and all that).

You could, but given that Juggernauts have their own rules it would be a bit confusing and tournaments might not like it due to that. I've honestly never seen a juggernaut model so I cant say anything for the size.

People tend to underestimate Tzeench but this sounds pretty much as his work And I agree, you should put them bolter in each hand for the WYSIWYG issue
