Well Recently having my son born i decided to purchase myself some DKOK models as a celebration, well thats how i sold it to the boss anyways. I had intended to get out of the warhammerz but like a nasty crack feen i just cant seem to do it.

So far i have purchased resonably cheap the following.
3 x Sqds Advancing
2 x Sqds Shooting
Platoon HQ
Comapny HQ
Mole Team
Engineer Team
Hades Drill.

There is a reather nice how to paint DKOK done on the net which im roughly following.

So today i managed to sqeeze in some painting time in between my littleman crying and needing attention. I purchased some vallejo model air colours for the base coats . I have to say im really impressed with these. quick and easy no thinners required . Used US grey for the main colour and highlighted with codex grey. Am pleased with how my first mini turned out.

Here is my first mini. What do you think??

Weird - I too have recently had a son born, and I too have ordered a pile of DKOK models

I like your test model, v nice - I'm going with a khaki/green scheme myself (sort of British WWII-ish).

Thanks guys.

@slinky, Its because we have tackled the challenge that is fatherhood so now we feel up to the task of tackling DKOK

DKOK are some of my favorite models, I'm jealous. Looking forward to seeing everything painted.

I have a one year old daughter, and her birth prompted me to start tyranids... wonder what that says about me?

looking quite nice though some subtle thinned down washes would really bring out the shading... have you tried using weathering powder before?

nice job. Now you just need to make 124 more.

Your one-stop website for batreps, articles, and assorted goodies about the men of Folera: Foleran First Imperial Archives. Read Dakka's favorite narrative battle report series The Hand of the King. Also, check out my commission work, and my terrain.

Abstract Principles of 40k: Why game imbalance and list tailoring is good, and why tournaments are an absurd farce.

Read "The Geomides Affair", now on sale! No bolter porn. Not another inquisitor story. A book written by a dakkanought for dakkanoughts!
