The blood angels codex has the same entries for scouts, tactical squads and devastators. All the squads have the same prices, all the upgrades are the same and have the same costs. Except the Lascannon.

Did GW hear the cry about lascannon being over priced?
Are BA suppose to be better siege?
Is this to promote BA from being all CC?

I am not complaining they get it cheaper, just wondering why the reason would be

You forgot the last option:

Is this GW's way of trying to top the SW codex in making a cheesy codex?

Couple this with the increased cost in that same book for Thundershield Terminators and I think its clear some attempt at re-balancing was done since C: SM.

because you'd have to be an idiot to take lascannons in a BA list. GW could have given them away for FREE and no self-respecting BA player would take them.

Yeah, I'm the choppiest army in the game. I can assault out of drop pods with furious charge. My dreadnoughts have blood talons and jetpacks. I get death company as a troops choice. Oh... except I'm going to go ahead and peel a couple hundred points off to take some dudes who just sit around with their thumbs up their bums trying to score hits against vehicles in cover before my powerfists and krak grenades blow them to kingdom come... Makes sense...

I think it is because most BA players won't take one so it doesn't mater.

Without Combat Tactics Blood Angels Devastators are sitting ducks.

They're more expensive because GW said they are... Somewhere in the points algorithm, they made Blood Angels lascannons more. They are slightly more expensive for Dark Angels to have, making the plasma cannon a more affordable option. In the fluff DA armies, they are plasma heavy. Just because they are...

I think that's just because DA is an awful codex, and has little to do with fluff. Personally I like the idea of DA getting cheaper plasma weapons though.

Someone stated earlier that it was an attempt to rebalance things in line with the stormshield points raise, and I think that's spot on.

Alllaros - how arte you assaulting out of drop pods? No rule I know of allows you to do so....

And its a psychic jetpack, so psychic defences would help with that one.

BA can assault out of their deep striking land raider, but nothing is allowed assault on the turn it deep strikes unless it has rules specifically saying that it can. Fleet of foot won't allow it. Only vanguard can assault when the descend like angels. punks.

IMO, basically devestators were overpriced in Codex SM. They were then very cheap (as long fangs) in Codex SW, possibly to make up for the fact that those squads can't take any ablative wounds. Then BA got devestators that are a little cheaper than regular SM.

I agree with what someone said above. Things like TH/SS terminators got a price boost, devestators got a price cut. It's a shame that these sensible changes are prety much overshadowed by all the shiny completely different assault units.

Eldar Corsairs: 4000 pts
Imperial Guard: 4000 pts

Corregidor 700 pts
Acontecimento 400 pts

lol no, it says specifically they can't assault the turn they DS. Its right under Deep Strike in the LR entry in the BA codex.
