So, BA Drop Pod Assault. The rules confuse me a little bit - is a drop pod assault "regular units arriving from deep strike via drop pod" and thus unable to assault, or can one assault straight out of a drop pod if making a first turn drop pod assault?

I would love to see three Furioso's assaulting first turn into a horde army . . . providing they don't reserve of course.

You may not assault out of a drop pod.

You can though assault from reserve if you use Heroic Intervention!

Heroic Intervention does not apply to Drop Pods.

Drop Pods was referred to in the title of the thread and five times in the text.
Jump Packs....wasn't mentioned at all.

Read it. It means you may send half of ur DPs rounding up, on the first turn. It is unfortunate that the rule also contains the word used for entering close combat.

Not may but have to send half rounded up.

Drop Pod Bombbardment would have been a much better name for that rule.

They use a word that has a specific definition in the BRB that differs from its dictionary definition (in that it only encompasses a small portion of the dictionary definition of "assault" in its current context). That causes confusion.

"Bombardment" has no explicitly defined meaning in the BRB. Therefore, it (or any similar word that also didn't have an explicit BRB definition) would be a much better name for the rule.

Bombardment does have a specific meaning, in terms of orbital bombardments (apocalypse), and squads of ordanance (IG) . . . but this is all very Off Topic . . .

No, "Orbital Bombardment" has a specific meaning, where "Bombardment" does not.

Semantics! It's important when you're discussing rules!
