This idea does not sound very good. I can't think of any fluff reason Marines would do this, and I don't foresee the conversion itself being very convincing. Harad and Marines are two aesthetics that just don't mix.

Well i am guessing you are running ultra marines so i say pick up some guard and have it as the ultramar pdf command platform or just war machine of some sort if its in apocalypse games i would maybe buy into it but just dont see marines other than say space wolves using wild life other than maybe a cyber eagle but thats not really a everyday bird .

I can imagine the Inquisition maybe, seeing as pack animals are used in he book Emperor's Mercy..... but Space Marines I REALLY can't imagine them using a beast of burden; other than the Space Wolves with the Thunderwolf Calvary.

In the book emperor's mercy the two Inquisitor's ride a similar creature on a desert Fortress World. But Space Marines would never do this, in a guard army as a theme maybe. Ultramar isn't even a planet with the potential for this, sorry.

Son can you play me a memory? I'm not really sure how it goes...

Well, this was not really what I expected... I thought you would show us some kind of hulk-calgar. But that is sadly not what you intended.
To speak of the actual subject, I don't think the ultramarines would ride mammoths. Fits the White scars better.

go for it,if you think it will look cool do it.if it doesnt pan out you can always try using guardsmen with it.
get some pics up when you decide whether or not to go for it.

This is an awesome hatstand idea. I would very much like to see it. To Hell with narrow-minded people saying it's against the fluff.

Use it as a Landraider... but you have to use lots of Plasticard as armour plates (and they have to look like they were build in a factory, not ork-style on-tacked) instead of those "banners" http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat500008a&prodId=prod1090149

The Mumakil is big enough to sport a couple marines with Lascannons, Assault Cannons, even Whirlwind Launchers on its back... Do It!

Surprisingly thought the same thing lol

I'm on the fence with this. I have the mumakil model myself. I just put it next to all my marines and it just doesn't seem to fit...

But hey, if you think you can work some magic go on ahead! Be interesting what you can do with it.

ah, i was actually wondering about the scale. does the model itself look too small in comparison to the space marines? or is the size ok?

What about the Talarn Dessert raiders? Sure they are not marines but hell it would work nicely for the Gaurd

I can see how they would work with beasts. But im not all that interested in swapping armies, as whenever i try to pick a new force they get neglected cos i love my current forces cheers tho
