I was trawling the interwebs when I found some minis from 'Iron wind metals' and decided to check their site. On attempting to open, both google and firefox freaked out saying the site was unsafe and 'an attacking' site.

Anyone know if it's actually unsafe or are google and firefox freaking out because the site contains links to other sites?

Hmm, curious. I was just about to check out some of their classic btech stuff today and got the same.

I'd email the site owner first, see what's up. Most malicious sites won't reply.

The guy has posted that the site was hacked and he's currently fixing the problem.

Iron Wind is legit folks. Mike and Melissa are good people and their website has just contracted something icky.

This happened on BOLS not so long ago as well.

Yep exactly what HBMC said, its through another server which pushes it forward and most webmasters can't detect it till its to late. These guys are great and are stand up people. They have been at the Adepticon two or three times and are always trying to help the Battletech community grow.

I wouldnt recommend them anymore, not after the last order I placed was a fiasco.

Given the 17 pages of code running in the background of Bols, this I'm not surprised about.

I've not had any issues with them since I spoke with them at DragonCon a couple of years back. Given the spate of gaming site server hacks in the last year (4chan got hacked too, but that's no great loss) the fact that a company that sells the stuff would get hit was only a matter of time.

I agree...Id hesitate to order direct from them...they arent the most together place. However, places like thewarstore.com (highly recommended) and FRPgames.com stock their stuff...as well as numerous places on ebay.

As far as the site...i got the same warning and asked about it in one of the other forums on here...I was basically told that the lastest versions of Firefox and such are now very sensitive, and will flag sites for silly reasons. Ive been on the iron wind site many times before and never had a problem.

QUick notes for the lazy...good products, dont order direct, warning probably nothing to worry about.
