Hey all!

I recently got back into Warhammer 40k - currently building up my Waaaaaaaaaaagh!

I run an independent game studio called +1Games, and we just released this: +1 Table Top Helper

+1TTH is designed to display your army lists for table top games, for use as reference. It currently supports Game Workshop's Warhammer 40k (and possibly fantasy, if the rules are similar?).
This app comes as a blank canvas, all data has to be inputted by the user, but spend a couple of minutes putting in your army and rules and it can be a time saver whilst playing.

The free version has no feature restrictions (this may change later if some of the other features are added (see our website)) or time restrictions, but it only allows 1 army to be saved at a time (will lose your army data if you overwrite it). The Paid version currently allows up to 5 armies (could be increased) to be saved.

It isn't an Army builder (although maybe in a couple of versions time...), dice roller or probability calculator - there are brilliant apps that already do those things

Search for Warhammer, 40k or PlusOneGames in the Android Market on your device, or follow the link above.

Tried various ways, but methinks something on this forum is stopping me posting links to something other than a http:// uri (its market:// for a direct link to the android market). Edited the first post.

All over the Galaxy ;D

So does this allow you to save preset configurations? Such as saving how much - say a bolter wargear costs or a squad of marines cost automatically?

Or is this more of a simple type word processor and calculator that you would always have to reinput your army list sand configurations? But all in all organizes your listings and pts?

Either way its cool - just wanna know (dont have an android yet)

I wanted an app that would be useful in the middle of a game - looking up stats and rules etc. As such I decided that wargear didn't need to automatically update stats (including model cost). This was to simplify development as much as anything.

You start off with a blank Army list and blank Known Rule Database.
You add a Unit to the Army and give it a name - example: Da Boyz, or Troop #1
You add a Model Type to this Unit.

A Model Type has:
a name - example: Boyz
number of models - example: 20
points per model - example: 7 (includes cost of wargear)
wh40k stats - WS, BS, S, etc (which can have secondary numbers) - example: A 2(3)
Wargear & Special Rules lists.

When you add a new Wargear or Specual Rule, its put into the known rule database so that it can be added to another model type later.
Once a Model Type has been added, it can be copied into any Unit in the same Army.

This means, that after putting the Boyz into a unit, you can then copy their details into a new model type, remove the slugga & choppas and put in a big shoota, and set the model count to whatever (0, 1 or 2 in the example).

The Army and Known Rules Database are persistantly saved, so you only enter it once.

2 Content Patches have come out for +1TTH since I made my last patch -

1.1 added the ability to add new Game systems (by customising Stats for Models and Equipment)
1.2 added the ability to Export and Import Army (along with Equipment / Special Rules & Game System) data to the sdcard.

plus other polish and bug fixes.

With the 1.2 patch, you can export from the Free version and import to the Paid version, or send you Army list to your friends.

Neat app. But I'm not sure I understand. Basically I enter all the pertinent info for the ork codex units and this thing saves it? Not to be crass, but what is the benefit to me while playing the game when I should have the codex near at hand?

Sometimes it's all about presentation.

Sadly, this doesn't have that presentation.

You're missing a lot of good formatting options that would help people.

For example, a table with stats that have their backgrounds slightly lightened and darkened, instead of just simple text output.

Also explore the use of color, bold text, font size, etc... in formatting army lists.

Just take a look at how army builder outputs.

Sound interesting.

Two Questions:

1. Are you planning to make an App for iPhone/iTouch?

2. What's the cost?

I don't have the hardware required to put out an iPhone version, so at the moment, no plans for that.

The Paid edition is selling at £2.50. The Free edition currently does everything that the Paid edition does, except it can only store 1 Army list at a time, and cannot Import .p1army files (can only export).

In the next version (1.4) the Free edition will be able to Import (which effectively gives you unlimited save slots, just have to export/import them), but won't be able to go into 'Multiplayer' mode (allows 2 armies to be loaded at the same time), which will be the basis of an army builder mode in a future version (probably v1.5).

I've been working on getting functionality up and working, and I agree it doesn't look very attractive. I mainly develop on a Dell Streak, so it probably looks even worse on smaller screens...

I put out Version 1.3 a couple of days ago that included To-hit & To-wound tables and allowed Equipment / Special Rules to have a Cost (which is added onto the Model's Cost). Hopefully as I'm adding more features, +1TTH is becoming more useful as a reference tool.

I may look into importing Army Builder files into +1TTH, but Im going to guess that they won't like that.
Is there a standard for writting out Army lists on this or other websites / forums? If so, might be able to import/export to that format.

I've found that using +1TTH during games is quicker than flicking through the codex and rule book. And its useful when you're talking about the game, but don't have your books at hand (my friends and I often discuss warhammer in the pub).

It could use some polish, but given the paucity of this kind of software for Android it's welcome.

Unfortunately though, it doesn't appear to support Fantasy. And without Fantasy support it will only ever be a curious (free) download for me, not something I will ever use.

Since v1.1 when starting a new Army, a screen will be displayed where you can add a new Game system.

I haven't played fantasy in a reeeeaaaally long time, but what would need to be changed to support it? When making a Game System you can define stats (their default value, min, max, etc). I could add it if I knew what needed to be done.

Just put out version 1.4 - Multiplayer (for Paid Edition), Importing (for Free Edition), a bit of colour, Equipment / Special Rules lists sorted alphabetically, points readout in model lists.

Cool idea just horrible execution. If I wanted to type all the information for the main rules and my codex I’ll use a word doc. I tried using it and it was absolutely horrible to manage not to mention at time it would lose all information I was typing in and I would have to start all over again. All in all it seemed like a great idea but was just a nightmare to work with. Not to mention I was using a droid incredible v2.2.

Losing data was a bug in the original version caused by rotating the device, that has since been fixed. Are you using the latest patch? If so do you know how to recreate it?

I tried to make a New Game last night for WF, and the experience was not at all pleasant. The lack of ability to edit a game is a serious problem if your product does not come with anything other than 40K out of box. And even worse, I screwed up my first attempt at it because I didn't realize I couldn't go back and edit, and now I can't even delete my first attempt.

Yeah fair enough, it is a bit harsh. I'll put in editing game systems... could go horribly wrong though deleting a stat or game that is in use will be fun

I really like the app! I think it is awesome I wish you could break it down a bit more. Have units under types, ie troops. And equip models individualy, instead of making a missile launcher long fang and then a squad and then a lascannon long fang, god for bid when I start my wolf guard, it will be a huge pain. If those things were fixed I would actually pay for it.

You could put the stats, generic wargear and special rules in a model and then use the 'Load Existing' to load that and then add the specific wargear for each other model.

In the future "army builder" version you will be able to specifiy cost of equipment on a per instance basis (that was bad design on my part, because models can get wargear as part of their base point cost in the codex) and specify the number to multiple by. In the Paid Edition you will be able to load Units / Models from the other loaded Army in Multiplayer mode.
This would allow you to input (or import if you have a file...) a race's codex data into one Army and then copy it into different Army lists.

v1.4.5 will be out soon that will allow you to edit and remove Game Systems, but I start a new job on monday so will have to see how much free time I will have.

It's good to see apps like this being built.

I hope someone does an iPhone version - just checked the Apps store, and was surprised to see nothing. Sure there are a zillion List manager apps, but i've never seen one flexible enough to handle this.

This actually answered the question I had. How do I give my boys a big shoota when costs are "pre model".
Looks like I take 9 shoota boys and 1 big shoota boy, instead of 10 boys + 1 big shoota.
