new revised list (Please not that this list is for striaght up annihilation games only so scoring units dont matter)

You need to have 5 death company men to field that dred

drop the death company dread and take a 10 man assault unit with a flamer bringing it to exactly 2000 points.

the idea is i have 2 AV 13 dread with Str10 force weapons

along with mephiston who can have a Str10 force weapon

the dreads can have wings if cast right and so can mephiston.

so its IC hunting

while the infernus pistols are looking for likely armoured tagets

the assault squad are just there to mix things up and i have supressing fire from a vindicator that can move 12 and still shoot

Devs are just devs

and land speeders are just there for support really. boom bom boom then the speeders die XD

As someone else pointed out, the initial list is illegal. Can't take a DC Dread without taking 5 DC.

and as i pointed out i cut the dread and said im taking assault marines with a flamer. which makes the list legal

Double it atleast and then add in the fancy stuff.

Vindicators are most effective in pairs.

why do i need scoring troops when all me and my mates tend to play it annhilation

Well its not "tend" its first one to table the other.. we dont leave survivors by the end of the game there are generaly no anything left, never mind scoring troops xD

If you guys only play annihilation games you are missing a large portion of the tactical element of 40k. If you ever decide to go to a tournament you will find yourself playing for objectives in some missions, or certain special objectives or victory conditions in other missions. The truth of it is, if you build your list to play for all mission types it will generally be a more balanced list and you will find yourself winning with it more often. Most of my Space Wolves lists would eat this for breakfast.

Your troops section needs to be at least twice its current size, and I think you need to drop one of your HQ's. If you want to run Mephiston, take him with a pair of Furioso Librarians with Wings and Shield, and fill up with 3x 10 man Assault Squads with Power Fists and 2x Meltaguns each. Add in a Sanguinary Priest and an Honor Guard with 4x Meltaguns and a Chapter Banner and you have a pretty strong base for a list. Extra points can be spent on the support units of your choice, such as Attack Bikes with Multi-Meltas or Rifleman Dreadnoughts.

You could also go with a pair of Librarians with Jump Packs, Shield and Fear of the Darkness with 3-4 Assault Squads, and Honor Guard, some Vanguard Vets and Land Speeders and do a full jumper list designed to Deep Strike. Fear of the Darkness is a very powerful spell and can really change the swing of a battle when an opponent fails morale and runs off the board.

Your list lacks synergy and firepower, and I think if you played outside your small gaming group you would get chewed up and spit out. Give a balanced list a try and see if you don't dominate your friends until they do the same!

But the pricipal isnt about him going to tourneys and getting objectives and this and that and the other, its that he is writing a list to beat me (and our mate), You give good advice but that doesn't change what the list is designed for.

a abalanced list would work well i agree.

but with the type of lists i know my friends to take,a balanced list would get past turn 2 mebbe 3.

I know what my oponents tend to take and i design my armies around that principles.

and i think that the 3 Str 10 force weapons that i have in this list along with the back up support would work well against the amies i face.

like i said the advice is good and of course i will point a balance list if i tend on competing in tournaments and such.

I haven't checked points but should be close to 2k. These should be fun lists seems you guys just play kill points so objectives aren't problem to lists which have no scoring units or have little units to hold ground with.

Ah we dont even play kill points really, well we do if it looks neccisary but it litterally end up with me getting home to him saying "hey mate ive written a new list" to which i reply "cool lets have a game" and then we play and someone ends up with no models xD

Ah right I see, cool. I would try one of the above lists then if just playing "Table Me!" game type lol.

The first full sanguary list is well over 2k points, the trrops alone are 1150, the 3 dev squads are about 600 priests with chap and pack are like 300 dante and libby are about 400. so thats like what. 2500?

As I said mate, I haven't added points up, you guys will have to do that but it gives you ideas, right? In the S-Guard list troops are probably clost to what you said but you're way off on the Devs, they are 390. Priests are 75 each.

ah i just based em on my wolves list long fangs but i am using 3 plasma 2 las cannons in each squad so fair doos soz on that man.

i played a s-guard list against him before and it wennt really well for me. DOA dowen and piped the vindis on drop was great

S-Guard will get nailed by Vindicators - nice shooting Tex. Best thing to do is either deep strike in with infernus pistols behind the Vindicator and nuke it, however this costs roughly 500 points of Angels to maybe total a single tank - I would use terrain and bound up the board, after all those Vindicators have to come to you.

Besper, if you do try those lists make sure you let me know how they go

i havent actually played with my BA as of yet i always enjoy my DA although last night was my first ever win with them XD
