The Blood Bowl: Legendary Edition for PC is a brand new version of the game which will feature the 9 races from the 2009 edition plus 11 new ones including Halflings, Undead, Amazon and more. The game will also have new stadiums and story mode.

I'm tempted to go ahead and get the current Xbox game here, since I don't think the Legendary Edition will be coming out for Xbox.

Don't get the Xbox version. It lacks everything that makes Blood Bowl fun. I didn't even like the game that much, though I might give the Legendary Edition a shot.

I want to get one to learn the rules, but not if it lacks "everything that makes it fun"!

The Xbox version doesn't have any League system, so when you play online, you have to play a standard Team. And you can't even change your team colors.

Also, playing a dice game with the computer rolling the dice in the background is pretty boring.

Heh its kinda funky though that there are so many elven and undead factions. Still pretty interested. Wish I could go to games day

Dang, just bought Dark Elves edition when it was on sale, and then I hear this is coming out!

To save anyone else digging around, release date is 28 Oct 2010. I've been meaning to pick up blood bowl for PC so might finally get this one.

Really pissed off that having bought the 'original' version to show my support for the game and the designers, I am now effectively being shat on by them releasing an updated version of the game with a ton more races that won't get released for the vanilla version.

Would have been nice if they had patched the original version too...

Still doesn't really alter the fact that I effectively need to buy what amounts to the same game twice, 30% discount notwithstanding. I celebrate their gumption and drive to recreate the boxed version of BB in it's entirety in video game format but it seems a bit churlish to punish all those who showed their support and commitment to buy the game in the first instance. If we hadn't bothered to do so there wouldn't be a Legendary Edition, full stop.

You could always try to boycott I suppose like L4D players

It would have been nice if this was a free DLC, but it's above and beyond an expansion in that it actually has more new content than had previously existed - at least as far as the number of teams goes.

I'd pay for it if it's reasonably priced, but as it's essentially an expansion I would be quite disappointed to see them try to hike it back up to full retail.

The L4D2 boycott was mostly due to the fact that DLC for the original was promised and never delivered until after the second title was released. Since you can now get both games and DLC in a single package for $20 on Steam, I think that one panned out nicely.

Technically though that took a year. Gamers (sans Duke Nukem, Marvel vs Capcom, TF2 gamers, and others!) get really impatient

If it was meant to be in the original game, wouldn't it have... you know... been in the original game?

DLC is great when offered but you typically pay for expansions in any case. L4D2 was a huge new game, and it just copped a bit of flak because it happened before the DLC.

It's kind of funny because unlike L4D2, this actually is an expansion being sold as a new game. THQ have cunningly said that this is a 'brand new version', inferring that it's something more. Still, it's like World of Warcraft... by the time each consecutive expansion was released, the typical retail price of the previous title had naturally dropped. It makes sense.

If they fix what was broken like the horrible AI, then bring on the "new game".

BB was cheap so no complaints here. Considering how much $$ my Eldar cost me.
