I'm including this in Dakka Discussions rather then 40K as they are for a different games system, with applications for 40k and other games.

OK, after Ramshackle games posted pictures of the Iron Grumber, I decided to finally put in an order.

Professionalism:
Before placing the order, I was told that there would be approximately a weeks delay due to heavy demand for the Iron Gumber: Reasonable expectations were set. In fact, I put in my order on 9/10 and it arrived 9/27 - much faster then Forge World to the US, even with the "delay". Top-notch.

Packing: Nothing damaged. Well packed with a study box, each item individually bubble wrapped, and plenty of peanuts. Again, top-notch.

Quality of product: As in previous discussions of production, in which I introduced what I modestly call the Ouze 5 Point Quality Scale: Category 2. The pictures on the site indicate clearly what you will get - a heavy resin product which will require some cleaning up upon arrival, and some prior experience with resin is helpful. No major blemishes, deformations, pits, warping, or cracks. Flash is present and easily removed. The resin smells quite strongly, but I have not yet washed it.

One of the vehicles - the NR-2 Stinger - has resin posts to which you attach the wheels. I suggest improving the design by cutting off the pegs and putting in your own pins of brass/aluminum or even styrene.

For 40K use, the vehicles are the right scale and aesthetic to go with Orks or in a stretch, plague marines. The Iron Grumber is slightly larger (about half an inch wider and longer) then a current model Rhino.

Value for the money: Exceptional. The vehicles I got - an Iron Grumber and 2x NR2 Stingers - sell for £18 / $28USD. I intend to proxy them as Wartrakks/Warbuggies and as a Trukk or maybe Battlewagon, which would GWS retail for for around $75-$100 depending. In the case of the ancient wartrakk/warbuggy models, the NR2 actually look a lot better. I also got a ton of extra wheels and tracks I will use to scratchbuild my own models.

I'd highly recommend their products if you are an 40K Ork player, or just enjoy kitbashing/scratchbuilding. I've very happy with every aspect of my order.

Update: After soaking in my normal bath of warm water + disk soap and scrubbing with a old toothbrush, the resin is scentless, so far as I can tell. It's just the release agent.

i saw you said you got extra wheels and tracks, is this actually included in the box or did you convert the models you bought causing you to have spare wheels/tracks.

They have a section on the site called "tridlins" in which you can buy spare bits. I bought extra wheels and tracks separately.

I've been meaning to support Curtis for some time, but haven't found a proper project to work with just yet. Good to know it's not going to drive me nuts waiting or that the stuff will arrive messed up .

Thanks for the review.

Inside a pretty, pretty pain cave... won't you come inside?

Awesome write-up, much appreciated. I've looked at their stuff for Orks and/or Chaos and wondered what to expect.

Could you tell me if the Iron grumbler comes with all that weathering in t he resin or did they add it for the paint job.

I'm not 100% sure what you mean by "the weathering in the resin". It's got some pocks and chips in it, but the rust effect in the picture was painted on after. Here's one shot:

I uploaded more pics to the gallery to give a better look at this specific model. I haven't assembled, primed, or patched with greenstuff anything yet - just washed it. Note the heavy pitting on some of the armor plates - I think that's what you mean. I think it will look pretty good with a wash applied. Also, here is my perpetually unfinished UM rhino for size reference.
