Share price is at it's highest all year! Given the big release of the new warhammer, the launch of Warhammer forge etc, can't see it being true, Plus that post was from a guy saying his local hobby shop had been quized about his GW sales, maybe he's been cooking the books and has been pulled up on it.

Having read through this I had to laugh at the amount of hate GW generates here is not the place to delve into all that . All I can say is Gw carry on they have provided me with a lot of fun over the years and the miniatures are the best out there if they wenyt under think of all the poor sculptors they enploy, they could never find wargames firms who cpold afford to pay them.

I don't want GW to go under, I just want them to get a clue.
Releasing DE is a good start. If the codex isn't up to par though, we're right back where we were as far as I'm concerned...
Anyway, even if they did go under, Hasbro would probably buy them out, not "real gamers". GW going bankrupt would not be a good thing for us.

Agreed, GW going under and having to sell out to someone would be one of the worst things that could possibly happen. Like them or not, they have a LOT of experience with what they do, and I somehow doubt any of us could run them any better no matter how stupid we think they are. Even though their prices are high, and they sometimes screw over a few races and seem to have a fetish with the Ultrasmurfs, Games Workshop really does provide me with hours and hours of fun. It'd be a shame if we had to lose that....

This rumor is not beliveble, since I sometimes glance at the Games Workshop stocks ( mainly out of curiosity) and they have actually been going up:

Someone pass the salt, please... this looks pretty weak.
Also, while GW could defintiely work on improving some features of their business approach (and, yes, various other factors as well)...I disagree completely with the OP. I would hate to see what would happen to the hobby if GW were to go under...

Not my post, just a link. For the record I dont think they would go into bankcruptcy, insolvency maybe due to cash flow problems but they would close a few stores before that happens! Im guessing its just the rumour mill going overtime again.
Not sure why GW going under would do much to the rest of the hobby... Only GW players would be screwed. Im sure the rest would just carry on, I dont think wargaming and GW are inexplictically linked. Wargaming was around before GW and it will be around after.
I for one could survive without them, but then I dont really play many GW games.

Agree entirely Sid
Have no idea whether they are going bankrupt, though I assume not.
However, one thing to bear in mind afaik is the problems of cash flow.
That can send an apparently healthy looking firm into liquidation.
again, not saying it is going to happen. But it is a potential concern in a slack economy.
Luckily for GW there are enough spoiled kids on the conveyer belt!

I didn't realize it's that time of the year for the annual "OMG GW IS GOING OUT OF BUSINESS" rumor. It sneaks up on you like X-mas.
I can't believe anyone would take this quote seriously:
"I heard from my local Hobbytown that they were getting calls from GW asking for financial records involved with them or something to that extent. He told me that they said they are going bankrupt. Any other news? I would love for it to go under, and be purchased by real gamers. "
So GW just calls a Hobbytown in Anywhere, USA, tells them they need financial records, and then just casually mentions to the clerk at Hobbytown that they are filing for bankruptcy? They didn't even hear it from a redshirt.
I can't believe this is even a discussion.

It cetainly sounds like a load of BS. As others have said, GW would go thru a restructuring phase long before bankruptcy. Since GW appears to be expanding - I do not think they are on the downslide.

GW tend to own most of their stuff, so apart from paying Leases, Cash Flow is less of a problem. I think.
