Well there is so far not much to be said about that offspring of Hive Fleet Kraken.

For unknown reasons they seem to be cut off from the collective hive mind and developed their own carpacepattern and new tactics...

i have done something that involved more scratchbuilding than i´ve done so far... namly creating a mycetic spore from scratch.

but reading is cheap, follow my tut wich will be updated as soon as i´m able to get more stuff on this project done...


behold:


first our ingredients, an old lid from a "nutella" glas...hmm sweet^^ and a new emo light^^ wich changes constantly color...here shown in the green phase


cut down to size the lid...


then add hole for switch and batteries to change to make it longusable...batteries are wristwatch batteries...


change of scenery cause my workspace is to small for working with our next ingredtient hot glue gun...


get it covered with that yucky stuff


here now the whole thing in its pink state^^


next ingredient: clay to cure under normal household conditions...


shaped it with dentist tools to form a kind of crater or rather deserty sandy groundbase...

with the rest of said clay i shaped some alien terrain to go with the army...

well thats all for now, guess that will take up to three days for curing the clay afterwards i will prime the models and thze will be subjected to some cruel paintjobs curtesy of my sweetness^^

@ murray yeah i thought also about it.... dont know if this is one of those tyranid things... at firts it was my idea so, but i´m not so sure now... if i want to make something i have liitle ideas how to do so, i dont know a way to add carpace...anyone knows a tutorial for that?

and yeah there is a switch on the bottom, i carved a hole for it in the base as seen on pic 3 and 4. it changes automaticaly color... will be interisting to see how it will work when fully painted...

the terrain- chimneythingys were more of a "do something with that leftover clay thing"^^

@neil: well i wanted to give the spore some extra effects to make a more unique appraoch, since there are so many really good versions around i wanted to draw competition on another level instead of the field of painting. cant be that good there, so have to have other ideas instead^^

after the weekend i will show some test hormagaunts to show the possible scheme... but the will be possible striped as i got a new wash in the mail, yellow ink^^ cool stuff.... want to try that so desperatly^^

nono, its coated because it was for some cucumbers... that way i will get the piece off easyly^^ thats nothing i would use as basing material...

in fact maybe i will use for the two alike objects a bigger base and add some more pieces... i´m not sure at thias moment. i just had to go with the creativity flow^^

thx for the admiring comments, i will make extra a special unit for my sm to battle them tyranids^^ like a special killteam. so the will be morphing in the tyranid appearance...

i guess that i will be able to show you all sunnday evening how things will lokk with the first or second color painted...so stay tuned^^

i will edit the thread name, the error didnt occur to me...it was just the color(?) of the post that was upsetting...but how do i edit it?

and yeah it will definatly be glowing and still yeah i want that alien look... in fact i will go hunting after wooden parts in the forest this weekend to get some things that look remarably like alien eggs... iwill show them but used babblefish and couln´t come up with a good translation of what trre it will be from, it is a fruit of a very big one, and not ash or so...

as for the spore for this i have to use massive washes to achieve a very thin but seeable paintjob and still be seethrough for the light...cross fingers for me^^
