I haven't seen this posted yet. and search doesn't show it, so here goes - please move or close if wrong place or already posted and I just can't find it.

Hi there,

Here at Maelstrom Games (www.maelstromgames.co.uk) we're already gearing up for a mad Christmas and we thought we'd better get a voucher run going early to ensure those of you that live outside the sunny shores of the United Kingdom can save some money when buying your Christmas presents and still get them on time! To that end we're giving you 15% off the UK recommended retail price from today for ten days!

YOUR EARLY CHRISTMAS VOUCHER
----------------------------------------------------------
Your 15% off UK RRP discount voucher ends on Monday the 11th of October 2010, at midnight (GMT) - so you've ten days to grab yourself a bargain!

It's a great chance to grab yourself all those lovely new ranges we've brought in over the past few months since our expansion as well as all your old favourites! It will work on all the items within our webstore, but:

- not on any Seeds of War items
- not on any Too Fat Lardies items
- not on any Games Workshop Direct items
- not on any event tickets
- and additionally, not on anything within our eBay store.

Apart from the above, the voucher will work on pre-orders and, crucially, you'll still earn Moneyback - although tiered discounts are disabled when using a voucher of course.

Your voucher code is: EARLY-CHRISTMAS

To use this voucher simply register on the webstore, www.maelstromgames.co.uk (if you haven't already), copy and paste the code into the appropriate field in your basket when you have selected the items you want, press 'REDEEM', and the webstore will do the rest. You are not limited to one purchase and, indeed, we would ask you to recommend us to your friends with this voucher!

Remember though that this voucher is intended for the webstore only - it does not apply to any of our auctions or shop inventory items on eBay.

Happy Ordering!

Note that if you're in the US, and not putting in a large order, this is probably not worth it - with the code, an example Daemon Prince would be $27USD vs $33USD GWS retail vs $32 Warstore, and the latter two won't take a month to get to you. On the other hand, if you're planning on putting in a $100+ order, this is likely a good time and place.

If the Dark Eldar go up for Advanced Order within the next 10 Days, will they be included in the Discount?

Good code, but it is only 15% off rrp. You can get lower than that at other websites.

Thanks for sharing anyways.

I asked and they said yes, Pre-orders are 15% off.

Ouze wrote:- not on any Games Workshop Direct items

They sell Games Workshop Direct items? I don't suppose you have any more information about how to do this? I'd been considering buying an Immolator or two but they aren't listed.

I think its 15% off of their pricing which is usually iirc already 20% off

Thats quite a bit of cash saved.

It's really not. I laid out a GBP 215 order and the voucher code brought it down to GBP 211.66. It seems like they sell GW @ ~10-13% off, so the voucher code only saves you a couple bucks if you buy HUNDREDS of DOLLARS of stuff.

So it's really a non-factor. Doesn't make up for their awful website.

Afaik they sell GW for 12.5% below UK retail, so the voucher saves you an extra 2.5%. Not huge but better than nothing, considering that I order most of my stuff from them anyway might as well use it I guess.

Awful website? That seems like a really petty reason not to order from them. "Damn them and their freely given and generous discounts! I don't like their website!". Really?

Then again, I could just be used to it. I've never had a problem navigating it.

And as I've said a dozen times, anyone ordering from overseas (especially Australia/New Zealand) get the best benefits out of it. It may be 10-15% of the prices for UK residents, but it's 40%-50% off the price for OZ/NZ residents, and then you factor in the free worldwide shipping. Depending on what you are ordering and exchange rates, it sometimes even works for North American residents.

It's pretty good for gamers in Canada too, UK prices are already almost 30% less in some cases and oddly enough maelstrom is the only free shipping option available here, so with that coupon we are looking at like 40% off!

The reason Maelstrom only give 10% while others can give 20% is because Maelstrom don't dick you over the shipping cost.

People in the US and Oz get amazing savings because of the free postage, and even Living in Ireland like myself make a huge saving.

That's not all true I'm in canada and it's (yet) always been cheaper to buy from Wayland Games even after postage, often by a good margin.

The point of ordering from Maelstrom and Wayland games ( European sites ) even at only 15% off is good for
currency exchange and especially the prices set at GBP

thats why USA store offer 20% off
and Canadian offer 30% off.

Europe's 15% off still comes cheaper than CDN ( considering if we dont get caught by customs )

Sir, I'm afraid I must... call shenanigans on you. I just added a Daemon Prince and a Chaos Battleforce to my cart ($123 GWS) and it came to $94.20 and free shipping. That's a 23% discount/$26 off, not "less then 4GBP" off. I have a hard time believing that when you doubled that order, the savings somehow disappeared, unless you're ordering things that are not covered by the voucher.

Interesting...

I just tested this, AOBR, Ork and SM Battleforce, Rhino, Trukk, Battlewagon and a LRC.

total recommended retail price: £270.00
order total: £233.28

After adding the voucher, it came to £229.51

Looks like the US dollar really IS down the

Still, £40 off the RRP is nothing to sniff at.

Guys this is the order of cheapest wargaming stores:
1.Dark Sphere/ Maelstrom games (with discount)
2.Wayland games/Maelstrom for us aussies
3.Maelstrom games/wayland for us aussies
Besides why the hell are patriots to stores?
If someone found a website cheaper then any of the ones i specified
I'd ditch the previous store and take that one.

Careful, was that the "US Dollar Button" or did you use a converter? I accidentally took their word for US dollars and ended up getting overcharged becuase they charge you in pounds. Apparently there isnt such a thing as a dynamic price converter for shopping websites

If anyone's still interested, they've extended the offer for another week, to the 18th of November. So if you want to pre-order from the second lot of Dark Eldar releases, you'll be able to do so.
