Title says all really.

Bear in mind i have no pervious Starcraft playment and am not a really big fan of RTS games, more just thinkin of getting it to play some friendly games against friends.

When the rich rage war it's the poor who die

Armies I have: Chaos Space Marines, Tau, Necrons, High Elves

Armies I want:Lizardmen, Warriors Of Chaos, Dark Eldar

Armies I may get: Dark Angels, Tomb Kings, Vampire Counts

It's awesome if you can actually find a computer able to run it.

May the the blessings of His Grace the Emperor tumble down upon you like a golden fog. (Only a VERY select few will get this reference. And it's not from 40k. )

I know my computer can run it due to a site, cant remember the address tho. It compares you computer to the specs and mine surpasses the "Recommended" settings for Starcraft 2.

I found it very fun, its a good sequal...

-Fun Campaign "though alot of people have issues with some of the plot"
-Cool new units
-An overall great improvement on the graphics.

And who could forget the fact that it is Starcraft but with all that

I thought it was fun, there are some cool custom games you can play if straight up 1v1 multiplayer isn't your thing.

Yes. It is worth buying. It's one of the best RTS games to be released in the last few years.

Well, if your only goal is to be able to play with friends, then of course get it. However, if your interested in the game on its own, I would start with the much cheaper SC 1. It will fill you in on the story line and is a great game.

I'd recommend picking up the first one to begin with, and seeing if you like it.

If you like it, get number 2, if not you can leave it alone.

Grab starcraft 2 if you want, its fine to play as some of the previous games storyline is mentinoed.

I'm currently playing through in the campaign and enjoying it with the newer units.

(Firebats and mauraders make me giggle like a over excited child for some reason, i'm convinced its the voices and suits).

Loving the diamondbacks, those things can kite enemy units something shocking.

I really enjoyed it. I don't play it nearly as much as the original, but still get my moneys worth out of it.

I'm eager for the rest of the game to get released.

You mention that you want to play with friends...if they are already playing SC II, then it wouldn't make much senese to go with the original SC. I would say go ahead, there are many ways to play the game that do not involve you getting Pwned by a Korean grade schooler: single player campaign, single player vs. AI, cooporative vs. AI, and that doesn't include all of the wacky custom games people are constantly making like RPGs and Tower Defense.

Emphasis on the custom games. The level of flexibility that the SC2 editor allows is quite insane and allows for a wide variety of game types that you don't see often with an RTS game. If anything its worth paying for that at the very least.

Pretty much that right there. I bought it, brand new and full price which I almost never do and haven't regretted it. Lots of fun to play and most of the additions are a lot of fun.

I played the original SC pretty much religously for like 2 years...and I'll be honest i didnt really get into SC2...I blame Dawn of War2 for making me lose intrest in just massing an army and clicking where the enemy probably is

The campaign is VERY highly spoken of though, good enough on its own apparently. (the way a game should be)

They say the Emperor protects; tell that to the Orks.
