Subject: Angels of Redemption with DA codex??

A question of Plasma weapons.
In keeping my Angels of Redemption as close to DA codex fluff as possible. I always see lots of DA stuff with plasma weapons of some kind. I have decided to incorporate this in my AoR army.... is this a tactically sound move??? are pistols, guns, and cannons all over the place worth it? should a cannon be paired up with a different assault weapon??
thoughts??

Plasma cannons are one of the most solid anti-infantry weapons in 40k. I recommend them in most situations.
That said, DA don't particularly have trouble with enemy infantry. Anti-tank is more what you need to worry about, and plasma weapons are sadly not ideal for this role.
It does sound like fun, but make sure you incorporate some heavy tank-busting weapons like meltaguns into your force. I also recommend at least one Predator Destructor with Lascannon Sponsons (this is legal for DA, yes?) to hang around your backfield and make a mess of enemy armor.

There's just an acre of you fellas, isn't there? |

Plasma guns work well on the DA Command Squad. You can get 2 plasma guns per 5-man squad, put them in a Rhino so they can both shoot out the top, and add an old-school apothecary who can protect you from one Gets Hot! result per turn.

DA have the "old schoo"l apothecary....you don't have a choice. So, no, it is not picking and choosing.
Even better, DA get "real" smoke

You absolutely can. Anything in the DA dex is legal. You're compensated by having to use the old crappy storm shield rules.

And having an incredibly bland and boring codex where all choices you can choose are overcosted. I don't think many would be offended if you use the C: SM instead to represent your DA successors.
