Hey all,

I just got the Space Marine battleforce and started the Rhino. I've gotten to the point where I can put weapons on the rhino. The instructions don't specify which weapons to use so I'm guessing you can use whatever you want. Does anyone have any recommendations as to which weapons I should use that come with this particular Rhino? I'm pretty new to the game so I'm not overly familiar with the strategy and best uses of a rhino, so I appreciate any tips.

Thanks in advance,
Oriphus

Rhinos are transports, and that's all they need to be used for. Put the Storm Bolter on it (which is the basic weapon it comes with) and you will be fine. When fielding the Rhino, just take it naked with no weapon upgrades or extra armor.

I think I lost all the other Rhino weapons except for the storm bolter from my battleforce.

But besides the storm bolter on top I would say to get smoke launchers, its so little points for something that has saved my rhinos so many times.

The smoke launcher is free, as is the storm bolter. The only two optional weapons are another storm bolter and a HK missile, both of which are horrendously overpriced pointsfor their utility. Best to keep a rhino nice and stripped down and cheap. If you have 10 points left over at the end of a list a HK missile as an afterthought could come in handy in a lucky emergency when you desperately need that 1 extra anti-tank shot, but you need to get lucky. That many points for a lucky what-if is just not very smart.
I would suggest magnetizing the extra additional weapons (actually all vehicle weapon variants) so if you do actually ever bother to squeeze them in a list you can without having to re-glue stuff.

Retroactively applied infallability is its own reward. I wish I knew this years ago.

I'm both chaotic and orderly. I value my own principles, and am willing to go to extreme lengths to enforce them, often trampling on the very same principles in the process. At best, I'm heroic and principled; at worst, I'm hypocritical and disorderly.

Thanks for the tips everyone! As for magnetizing weapons - is it difficult to do?

No, sometimes when useing multiple magnets it's kinda difficult to get the weapon pointing straight forwards, but with the Rhino's weapons one magnet will probably do.
Just drill a hole the size of your magnets in the weapon and its mount and superglue the magnets in there!

I would not bother with magnetizing a rhino's weapons. I've never heard nor seen it done in 6 years of playing, that includes seeing all of the *really* old models still in use by RogueTrader players.

I did it for Crisis Suits. It was a tremendous pain, but worth it for changing weps.

The rhino is a nice stable platform of a model and requires no magnets. If you really feel you need something to hold the SB down, use Ticky-tac. It will hold the one storm bolter on. Plus, at some point, a "Weapon Destroyed" result will occur and it'll be easy to just pull it off.

Glue the back and side doors, but not the top doors, as once in a while you might use the model as a razorback.
