Pious Vorne is an excellent counts as for a sororitas Preacher indeed but it's not on the catalogue though, to get it you need to buy the whole expensive Blackstone Fortress kit, Klovis is a much cheaper alternative.

You can with a bit of luck get Pious Vorne for 5-15 bucks off Ebay. Which is very likely much cheaper than Klovis is gonna be.

Of course, I got Urien Rakhart off ebay for 1 euro, lol. Still, if you need or just want a model you can't count on luck on ebay .

I can accept a level of increase for regular GW given that there are shipping/freight/warehouse/inventory costs involved. It's still grossly overpriced, but there is a level of logic to the increases. FW is given no such leeway. Same product as you, same factory as you, shipped from the same address as it would be to you, and I still have to pay shipping costs... so why is it anywhere from 25%-40% more. What exactly am I getting for that additional cost? I don't buy from Forge World anymore. Pure and simple. Mad Doc Grotsnik wrote:I’m hoping to arrange a campaign locally, but want to gauge interest before I start buying Hired Guns and that. My intent is to have a limited number of each, rather than allow the players to hire and fire willynilly.
I did that once. Started the campaign with one Scum, three Bounty Hunters and a Ratskin scout already pre-rolled with all their equipment and whatnot. All named as well. They were part of the newsletter I did after each session, and anyone could hire them. In one game, where the Orlocks and Eschers teamed up to take on the top gang - a Genestealer Cult known as the 'Fort London Genealogy Society' (ie. FLGS!) - the Ratskin they had hired got captured by the cult. This is back when Genestealer Cults were awesome and could actually get Genestealers, not now with their overpriced W1 so-called Champions. The Ratskin quickly became Brother Rat, and decided (all on his own, of course) that serving the FLGS was the right thing to do.

That sounds ace!
Definitely keen on having a Campaign earn a sense of permanence. Pre-designed boards for certain locations, named and recognisable characters. Encourage players to make removable tag signs, so as they dominate the area, their tags pop up more and more often.
Hmmm. Would need a plan in case a Mercator Guild suffers a TPK, as I don’t see them taking that lying down! Automatically Appended Next Post: And a fair point on the FW cost.

Baxx actually justified a claim based on anything at all. that other guy didn't. I've been considering jumping into necromunda again, and what I disagree with is claiming things are self-evident or obvious or whatever. In the land of internet hyperbole, I don't care for an attitude of "well obviously everyone knows {niche knowledge, conjecture stated as fact, claim that I believe which sounds more authoritative if a phantom army believes it too, etc. etc.}." It doesn't take an essay to justify something, but a scrap of reasoning or evidence at least shows something of where someone is coming from. If it's apparently obvious, I wanted to know what made it obvious. It doesn't matter, I just get irritated when people claim that they're right because there's no possibility that they could be wrong, it's boring at best.

It happened with FW's alternate Escher champs. And then their alternate Orlocks. And then the Phyrr cats.
Every time people in this thread go down the "could it be plastic?!" road it's not, and they're wrong.

It's not fair game to speculate about any guilder/brute/hired gun/alt. champion release being plastic unless the preview contains some incredibly extraordinary piece of evidence. Evidence.

When you're right you're right, I guess I just felt your "evidence" was relatively easily refuted and your "reasoning" overstated what you were fixating on, so I hadn't thought of either as sound.

I don't think the diving suit is meant to be an Ogryn - more high pressure power armour. The underwater maintenance is probably a bit too technical for a non B.O.N.E.-head Ogryn, anyway.
Model wise, the feet look too small but with weighted boots,, and so does the head.

House of Blades has them as-
1 Master Nautican, 1 Syphonite, 1 Subnautican berserker.
Hes a subspecies of Ogryn, kind of like a Water based type. I'm not sure if he has gills, but there's talk of that. The suit has the water in it... Take that for what it's worth.

Oh, I know he's got Ogryn stats, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's an Ogryn.
However, it doesn't really matter what's in the suit. I think it's one to headcannon.

Also, um, yes, there is official Preacher model even if you ignore BSF ones the new loadout was made for:

If I remember correctly. The diving suit boy is some kind of either abhuman or geneteically modified human that is designed for living in the water tanks themselves. The suit isn't for diving into the sump, but rather for getting around outside of the water.

Where do you get that information from?
The Book of Peril references Subnauticans as doubling in both maintaining the water-reservoirs (cleaning, repairing, etc...) and in acting as bodyguards for the guild. The House of Blades book references the same thing. In neither of them is it mentioned them being mutants or genetically modified, just saying that they're guilders in heavy diving suits.
Is it mentioned somewhere outside of those books, like a BL book?
I do believe Subnauticans are non-human, either Stimmed-Goliath gangers or Ogryns, but none of the rulebooks have given us any indication of what is inside of those suits.

The Pelager don't need diving gear when in the water....but it would be useful in keeping them operational when out of it.

Strg Alt wrote: The diver reminds me of the Bioshock character. Is there a scenario which allows swimming? Pretty sure it's not covered in the core rules.
There are many ways to use "water" effects in Necromunda. Sump Sea (Badzone Environment) is available, can be combined with stuff like Toxic Downpour, Gunk Tank or Sludge Jellies (Badzone Events) for additional effects. Then there are scenarios like Toll Bridge which has effects for falling into or rowing on a toxic river. Rules are generally never written with other rules in mind, so the Subnautican have no special rules in relation to these effects. The Subnautican is described as follows: ... the hulking Subnautican Behemoths in their armoured diving suits ... are the divers that keep the cisterns and reservoirs of Hive Primus functioning, but also double as able and heavily armoured bodyguards for the Master Nautican should the need arise.
Also having key features like Open Fists (like 'Zerker) and Berserker (skill). To me, this is obviously an Ogre or at minimum an Ogre-like Brute, similar to a 'Zerker or any other S5/T5 fighter. It doesn't matter much what it is, if you want it to be an Ogre (or something very similar), you can imagine it is. Otherwise don't? Graphite wrote:Oh, I know he's got Ogryn stats, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's an Ogryn.
