I have a SOB immolator and would like to do some flame detailing on it. I would like the joy of painting it myself, so I don't want to use decals, but I don't trust that I can freehand something that will look good.

painted: 12 dryads,9 glade guard,2 glade guard scouts.
assembled but unpainted: 2 glade guard and the lord's bowman, 8 glade guard scouts, sexy elf lord
in the box: , 8 glade riders, , one female spellsinger, Orion, Ariel, the faerie queen. SOB immolator, 15 sisters.

You don't really need stencils. Some freehand skill is required but it simply requires painting small wavy areas and then filling them in, such as this Hellhound I did.

Sketch it out 1st onto the tank.
Or, use paper to make a few different single flames, then plasce them against the tank, sketch round them and move onto the next one.

Saying that though, ive allways found it alot easier to simply freehand them onto the surface area.
Trick is to not hold the brush very tight and let it flow.

Yea draw it on your vehicle witha pencil first. That way you can get it on there and make sure it looks good with the body lines of the tank. Thats the biggest hing, you can practice all day on paper, but sometimes it just looks weird after you stick it on a vehicle because of the body lines. Good luck and post some pics if you can
