I ask because today I got my first FW order (Ravenguard Rhino doors) and am really impressed with them, which has me thinking about getting a FW dread now.

I like to stick LED's in my Dreads as I'm building them, and have been told the FW Dread torsos are solid resin. You can see how sticking an led in one of those might be a bit difficult/risky I'm sure... so can anyone confirm whether they are or aren't solid resin before I go and buy one please?

The bodies are solid resin, although it's not impossible to put an LED in. The head and power plant are separate pieces, so if you want to have a light shine from behind the head you can carefully drill through into the cavity where the head is mounted from behind and then cover up any mess in the back with the power plant.

Yep, they are solid multi-part mini's, not sure how easy it would be to drill through, i have a FW space wolves dreadnought and it is wicked, but it did nees a fair bit of greenstuffing to get the engine block and body to line up properly.

If my resin wolves i bought are anything to go by it shouldn't be too hard to drill out.

Set up a link so we can see how you go wih te conversions if you decide to go ahead with it please. Always love to see new ideas

Not all of them are pure resin.

Mine was part chocolate.

and was delicious....

Like mentioned before its pure resin.
But its easy to drill throu.just like normal gw plastic.

But you should always wear a mask as rein dust is not really good for your lungs or your body at all.

It could be an interesting challenge, I don't have the money for a new drill and the like just yet though, so it probably won't happening this year with Christmas coming up.

If I do it, I'll make a thread, thanks all.

I have a BT FW dread and it is awesome and they are solid like a rock.
You should use a hand drill a power drill will cause you problems.

Get a gremel and an endmill bit (and dust masks) Resin cuts like... well I can't think of an appropriate simile for how easy it is.
