Kroot hounds are on normal bases,so is it legal to field fenrisian wolves on standard bases as well?
Im using chaos hounds and they would perfectly fit on standard 25mm bases

You have to use the base the model is supplied with.

If there is no model then technically it is not legal to field them at all. Therfore simply base it on something "appropriate" - and if they dont look silly on a 25mm base then i doubt most opponents will mind.

You use the base that the model is supplied with. Anything else requires opponents' consent.

I used the wargs from WotR they work perfectly. Their bases are the same size as termies. I put my thunderwolf cav on 60's same size as a juggernaut from DoC. Never had any complaints use them in many tournys and 'ard boyz. I think putting them on 25's is fine, but using the codex as a kind of guide in relation to marine size I think 25's are to small, but it is totally legal since there is no model for them. The only 2 requirements for GW is that the model is either scratch built and looks like the unit not some clay blob, or that you use GW parts or models to represent the unit. I do believe the latter only comes into effect if you are converting something to use in place of an existing model from GW. Just remember the golden rule if it looks good and looks like what it is suppose to look like no one is going to complain.

Good choice they look much nicer, and if you haven't invested much into them yet go check out the new WotR wargs on GW site. I swear they were released with space wolves in mind.

I use the 40mm ones for fenris wolves because that's what Phil Kelly uses.

I'm sure these are just the same wargs used for the Warg Rider's set, just sold in a set of six with no riders...?

Back OT, Really depends on where you reguarly play. If you're playing in a FLGS, with Wargs, Krot Hounds, Warhounds, whatever, it would probably be fine just using them on the bases that those models came with. IMO you'd be hard-pressed to find someone pennickity enough to refuse to play you just because you havn't got the right bases for models that don't even exist. To be safe, always check beforehand

However, it needs to be said that if you're looking to play in GW organised events/stores, be careful about using any LOTR/WotR models/products, as last I heard they were pretty twitchy about using LOTR stuff in non-LOTR events, something to do with the intellectual property or some-such other nonsense.

The movie license forbids them from mixing LotR figures with warhammer stuff.
