Hey guys, I'm working on my skaven army, whose bases I want to theme as if they are marching out of skavenblight, so the general theme is ruins sinking into a swamp. I've seen some stuff by GW that would look great (the old chapel stuff that came with the 3rd ed starter box, and the ruins of osgilliath) but these can be pricey, does anyone know of anything similar that is a lot cheaper, as I think I may need a bunch of it?

Use foamboard with the paper peeled off. Dead easy to cut into arches / wall segments, and easy to carve the brick pattern in with a biro. Just remember to seal it with a couple of coats of watered down PVA before spraying it.

Edit: remember not to put stuff on every base - it looks wrong and makes ranking up difficult. Just do a few, and texture the unit's movement tray to match.
