How long do you think it will take for GW to release the models for the new units in the codex?

Seeing the pattern of releasing models for armies outside codex releases, I'd say a year or two.

GW usually release their intended models for a new codex in 2 waves. Tyranids are old enough now that they are beyond their new releases, so Tervigons, Tyrannofexes, Sky Slashers, Shrikes, Mycetic Spores and the special character units aren't likely to get releases, nor any accessory sprues for missing weapons like boneswords.
There's plenty of places you can find some of these, either parts to convert current GW models or full models themselves. Forgeworld has Warrior wings to make Shrikes, and sell complete sky slashers. Paulson games sell resin boneswords and lashwhips. Chapterhouse Studios have a conversion kit to turn a Carnifex into a Tervigon. Look around, you'll probably find more.
Either that, or get converting! It is part of the hobby, after all.

After a few years, we should get some new models. The Tyrannofex (or possibly the Mycteic Spore) will probably be the first to get a model. Expect some new Forge World models soon. Necrons have recently recieved the Tomb Stalker (It was not a myth! HALLELUGAH!).
And don't complain about Games Workshop. The phrase "Don't bite the hand that feeds you" comes to mind.

Why would you say that when codices like Daemons and Eldar got mini releases YEARS after the codex hit the stands?

Didn't someone say around the time of the Daemon Prince release that they were going back to the old, better way, where they don't sit on new models for years waiting until the next codex release?

Instead they just never bother making models in the first place! This is cunning business practice my friends, cunning.

I'd imagine they'd make more coming out with their own. Those who don't have model, or don't want to make their own, vastly outnumber those who do make their own models.
