I was having a nose around a WWII news site that I visit and came across this link in their news section: http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2010/10/why-is-this-gop-house-candidate-dressed-as-a-nazi/64319/
The article begs the question or where do you draw the line? WWII had two sides, so how do you represent them if people start kicking off and saying it's offensive?

A few years ago there was a Waffen SS re-enactment group at Salute (one of the UK's biggest wargames shows).
It caused a lot of ruckus. Many visitors complained about the inclusion of SS, rather than Wehrmacht re-enactors, in the event.

Weren't they guys who re-enacted the Warsaw uprising? I remember hearing that something like that happened at Salute. It was one thing to dress up as SS, but another to re-enact the round up of Jews.

WWII is still sort of fresh in some peoples minds and re-enactors who do Germans have been under scrutiny / hysteria for years.
I used to get Flak for being a Confederate from time to time.
At most events I have been to the germans have been kept 'way out on the end, sometimes with good reason.
