Depends on the type of sw army

Ig isn't on the list :p

Mech spacepuppy razorback/longfang has serious issues with heavy melta mech ig.

Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, but refuse. They cling to the realm, or love, or the gods…illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is, but they’ll never know this. Not until it’s too late.

I said eldar, just cause a good eldar list is so manuverable and can really put a hurting on troops squads with love numbers.

Um yeah. This list is missing the "Big Guns" of the Guard.

*Having problem with Thunderwolves, show some love with Hyrdra flak, and Vendetta's.
*Long fangs giving you grief, run them off the board with a Pysker Battle Squad, and some fire power.

Lot of options with IG, that give Space wolves a lot of problems ( I think that's why there's a lot of votes in other).

Im going with IG here, I mean I've seen plenty of Space Wolves days ruined by the good ol' tread heads.

Although watching Ogryns headbutt Space Wolves to death has so much testosterone involved it actually puts hairs on your chest, from merely witnessing it.

I would say either IG or BA (vindicators as fast vehicles tear stuff up).

Good thing about the Space Pups is that we have options, so we can adapt pretty well.

The new dark eldar codex might also be bad for SW, mass anti tank and poisoned weapons hurt.

I'd say IG too. Alot of IG's units can shoot at range and therefore make good arguments, though SW can close the gap fairly quickly if they want to, then IG advantage would be negated

IG, other space wolves, a well played BA list (not razorspam, longfangs eat that list)

Yeah, it's odd that the other two heavy hitters aren't here.

BA with outflanking Baals can be exceptionally dangerous, as can several IG builds.

I don't think DE will make as big a dent because Long Fangs wreck most DE stuff that bolters don't. Poison isn't very scary to 3+ save troops- it's the no AS stuff and that tends to be fragile. Razorspam isn't the only (or necessarilly optimal way to play SWs, ya know ;-) ). But, yeah, lances/scourges/etc. should make razorspam a little nervous.

Depends on the SW list which can vary greatly. For me:

1) BW Orks
2) Some IG Builds
3) Daemons

Count Dooku, Ork Hordes are my speciality.

I MEAN SITH LORDS!

Again, I say IG. Psyker Battle Squads and so much high strength stuff like demolishers, lascannons and BCs, will asplode SW pretty quick.

And yes, the guy up there saying that SW can adapt is certainly right, they have those scary psyker beam things

(P.S Daemon Eater, your display picture is scary, I cried )

Regardless of the fact the IG and BA are the other top dogs currently, orks certainly give space wolves a much tougher time.

I played my buddys SW for a 8 man scenario and cleaned through orks. I think Eldar gave me run for my money, but to be fair I was being picked on by 2 Avatars and Eldrad. The new DE might make a tough army pending the new codex. The Tau and IG if played in numbers pose a threat.

I dont get why people say Orks are good against SW?

SW have missile spam, and ork infantry cant really deal with TWC without getting large blast reprisal after bunching heaps so they can all hit them.

Personally I cant see how orks are competitive, but I havnt versed a competent ork player yet so ...

Generally SW's only rely on missile spam. Most solid Ork players are running 2-3 Battlewagons which with AV14 and a KFF means that those units are getting to the enemy. Which is why people say orks are a decent threat against SW's.

As long as the long fangs are in the front arch they are not doing squad to AV14 with a KFF.

Snickrot is better at dealing with long fangs than scouts are with large groups of lootas because scouts usually take meltas and power fists, while small groups of lootas cost far less than the scouts being used to kill them.

TWC with storm shields are expensive, and the storm shields are only good against nobs not countless numbers of boys.

Orks are not helpless against space puppies, especially in a tournament setting, but they are not ideal either.

Ideal is IG.

Their firepower is ideal for frying razorbacks and TWC. Without razorbacks space puppies are slow, with razorbacks space puppies are either still slow moving 6" and shooting, or the razorbacks are being used as over priced Rhinos.

TWC can squash guard in CC, but anything tougher than a Tau firewarrior can squash guard in CC The real advantage of TWC is their speed, and if they go all out on speed they will hit the IG lines unsupported and alone.

Definitely not Ork. I have designed my Ork list specifically against the belief that orks have to shoot the hell out of the Space Wolves before combat. The counter-assault rule against my 6+ armor save makes the old ork charge method less than desirable.

I can't add to the poll, as I have yet to see space wolves played by anyone other than the 3 times I played them (all were pretty bad, though I did go 2-1).

But just from a numbers standpoint, I would think my Orks stand a pretty good shot, running a wagon wall with loota fire and maybe a sneaky hiding snikrot should atleast have him sweating.

Orks are a real pain for me. I run MSU Grey Hunters in Razorbacks, and most of the local Ork players play Green Tide lists. There are so many boyz on the table, that I feel like even if I hit and wounded perfectly all game, I'd still kill less than half of his army.
