I'm a gamer first and a modeller about 25th. Generally I put the models together as they come and give them a basic coat of paint. But with Ork Mega Nobz costing around £12 I figured I'd make my own taking some advice to use AoBR Terminators. They're not great but they'll certinaly do me for now.

Apologies for talking positively about games I enjoy.

hey not bad man. It gets you a couple meganobz.

I had thought of doing that with a couple of the older termies I have laying around.

I've never seen this kind of conversion work, ever. Orks and Marines have different proportions that don't jive. Convert your own with plasticard.

Well, I commend you on your creativity and ingenuity, but I have to admit, the proportions do seem very off to me. They look too thin and long. Orks, especially in Mega Armour, are big and bulky. But, hey, if you don't want to spend the money on Meganobz and you've got the Termies, then go for it. No one you play against will complain.

I totally agree that the legs look a bit thin for Orks.

I used regualr Boyz heads rather than Nobz, the Nobz would be too big and look totally out of proportion.

I did think of plasti-card, then I considered my modelling skill and went this way instead

Basically I'm going to play these for a couple of weeks to see if I like the way Meganobz play, if I like them then I'll be more than happy to buy the proper models. It's just a lot of cash on something that might not fit my play style.

Thanks for the commets.

I'm sorry to say I really don't like the way these look. That said however, it's a clever conversion and definitely saves you some money.

I'd have no problem facing these on the table. I just wouldn't field them myself.

Cheers and good luck.

I've been doing the same thing myself recently but as people have said the proportions are the biggest problem, it takes a lot of cutting-down and beefing-up in different areas to make them look as if they'd fit the Ork physique (shorter legs, larger torso and their overall less upright stance) and even then it's not perfect. They do look a bit off yes but at least it gives you some Meganobz to play with and hey, at least it's a bit a modelling practice.
