well im just getting back into gaming after a long break from it to follow other intrest now i used to collect imperial guard and i still want to carry on with the imperial guard as i think they look awesome anyway i was just wondering is there was any way i could use maybe space marine armor as a sargent or comander in my imperial guard force or maybe use spacemarine bolters in my ranks. also was looking for a better fast attack option for imperial guard other than the sentinal or elysian bugie thing

I'm not sure about IG in Power Armour, but you could - with your opponent's permission - field a mixture of Space Marines and Imperial Guard. Say, 1,000 Points of Imperial Guard and 500 Points of Space Marines, using the same Force Organisation Chart. Of course, this would only be permissible for Friendly Games, and you'd have to ask your opponent, but I can't see them refusing. I wouldn't.

Or you could... y'know... just play Space marines.

Or if you don't mind losing lots, play Daemonhunters with allies.

Or you could, you know, use some punctuation so more people reply to you. There is 1 full stop and thats it, not even a capital letter to begin. Anyway, I digress...

So, whats this about a better fast attack option? If you have noticed in the codex, the Elysian buggies aren't in there but what you do have is awesome flying transports that boast a large amount of fire power for a very low cost. Plus you have some fast tanks to go with them on the ground but they're generally left so you can fit in more flying transports of doom and 'slow' tanks into an army list.

I think there is a reason Space Marines are not in the codex 'Imperial Guard'. Its because mixing MeQ's with the best tanks for their point cost in the game might be seen as slightly game breaking.

Don't forget roughriders! Some of the best points per pop you can get!

And if you go mental you can even combine rough riders with power suits

They are awesome flinty! I honestly wouldnt mind if you played me and fielded a space marine/guard force they are both imperium, it would be like using chaos deamons in CSM army, I think its ok. But yes of cause rules allow for you to use daemons in CSM armies, but I dont think anyone would mind a joint imperium force.

I use space marine models strewn throughout my IG/mechanicus army with few complaints.
My idea is that the sarges are skitarri and are bigger and better equipped, my opponents like that they are much easier to see from a distance exactly where they are and what they have.

I had a little rethink after reading your posts and i htink it would be to much hassle to put SM power amour on IG so i have decided against it, on the other hand are bolters still ok to use with IG, i noticed in the command pack that you can get bolter pistols and bolter guns so im assuming it would be ok just making sure.

Ah ok never mind then, yer i no i should really read the codex but i am working on a tight budget here so unfortunatly i dont have the funds for a codex yet, but i will be getting one in the future.

Also does anyone know anywhere i can get kneeling guards men leg, ive been looking all over the place but cant seem to find any.
