Hanging Out with Russ until Wolftime

Having just finished re-watching the Nostalgia Critics movies (watch them here, the mighty Gwar! commands it except for the first one which is 8 levels of crap), I got to thinking about all the really Dark and messed up stories behind some of the classic icons of our childhood.

For example, the Trix rabbit. All he wants is a damn bowl of cereal... WHY WON'T YOU LET HIM HAVE IT! You can imagine as the weeks turn into months turn into years, every day slowly decending into more and more inescapable madness over something so trivial, thwarted at every turn by children no less, untill, one day, you finally manage it. You get past everyone, you are able to fool them all... you get a box of Trix, you even disguise them with other cerials. The plan is perfect, foolproof, a million times you have gone though it in your mind and a million times again. All these years of having to listen to "Silly Rabbit, Trix are for Kids!".... "TRIX ARE FOR KIDS!!!!!!" Well... no more! No longer will I be denied my birthright... I finally have it, I have succeeded... NOTHING CAN STOP ME!!!!!!

So, what are your favorite Dark back-stories behind your nostalgic characters?

In your head, screwing with your thoughts...

That was pretty good, but I can top that...

I almost always agree with Albatross, I can't see why anyone wouldn't.

Okay, so the male version of "Cougar" is now officially "Albatross".

Tom of Toonami

My most beloved icon of nostalgia (through my young eyes)

Little did I know that his voice actor, Steven Blum, also did the voice of Cyrus from Dawn of War 2.

So the above image became this

Being the voice of this pessimistic one sided character is tragic enough

I too remember that blob that killed him in the elevator.

It was brutal, but not as brutal as the awesomely violent shows they had on back then

Nope. The 3 new robots on the last toonami before it was canceled.
It wasn't all their fault, but they were never as cool as Tom.
