Hi.

Im looking for advice on what paints to use on my Imperial fist honor guard. The rest of the army is white black and yellow. I wanted them to really stand out but not look apart from the rest. I have only two fully made and The chapter banner.

PS They are the unpainted ones. I was trying to go for a medieval knight look, especially with the one who is praying on his knees. The banner is Painted but not finished.

Very nice, are you going to paint the honor guard a completely diffrent color or just the helms?

Assumeing that you are just going to paint the helms... gold, probally would not stand out enough, white might, black would but it is hard to paint...

Maybe a metalic silver?

I was thinking of painting them all gold. Like the amour of Rogal Dorn. The fluff is that they are the decedents of his Templar bodyguard. Maybe silver helms???? I will have to do some testing.

Paint the white like the scars but instead of red use yellow to tide them to your army

Hey That is a good idea. hmmmm. Like reverse the colors so that more white than yellow. What about the helms though?

For ease of painting a reversed scheme would work nicely. It sticks to the same colour palette, but creates a clear distinction for a single unit Replacing the yellow with a gold and leaving the rest of the markings in the white and black could also work well.

If you want to mark them just with the helmets and no other painting variation, then you would want to pick a helmet colour not already planned on by another unit in the army. Since you are already using white helmets, the main suggestions I would make would make would be silver or gold. Black would be too jarring in my opinion compared to the rest of the army, and yellow would blend with the rest of the armor without marking them out as special.

I look forward to seeing what direction you go with it, and also would like to see some more shots of the champion kneeling in prayer from different angles.

Amazing stances, they are all very mobile and exciting. I think you should change the trimming or add free-hand, that's my favourite way of differentiating.

i like the idea of different color helmets, maybe a black or gold helmet?

I think i am going to have to go on Space marine painter, or even Dawn of war 2 painter to make my mind up. I will post some more pictures as i have part of another guard which will be in a charging pose, with his sword leveled at his foe. Sort of Aragon charging the Uruks at Helms-Deep thing.

And My Chapter master, of which i am using Gabriel Seth. Work has been started on him aswell.

I will probably make a separate gallery for Them.

Red with yellow or white helmets would look pretty spiffy, they'd stand out nicely too.
