Just in the last few days I've noticed 2-4 spam accounts trying to get people to buy handbags, usually with the chinese flag signifying their country of origin. Mostly they preach about girls loving beauty, but I just noticed one in News & Rumors whose thread topic was "New Wraithlord", with matching comments, except for the link wasn't a hyperlink, so it went back to the same purse/shoe online store. What can be done? Mods, save us!
Seriously, is there anything that can be done to stop these menaces to our wonderful online community?

No,not really. It's chinese people setting up legit accounts, not a clever piece of software. To stop them, you'd have to make it impossible to make an account.

Is it possible to ban servers, or computers? If all their links are going to the same site, could they be on the same server/area, working for someone?

There was another non-chinese one a couple of days ago that had bank accounts and credit cards for sale. Is this the first big wave of spammers, because I haven't noticed it much until the last couple of days.

IP addresses of spam accounts are banned, but there is no way to stop them from signing up again from a different IP address.
Generally, this sort of thing happens in waves. You'll get inundated with spam from a particular spammer or group, and then after a while it will taper off as they move on to other websites.
The best thing to do is just report them as you see them so we can remove them as quickly and painlessly as possible.
