So just out of curiosity I'm wondering what rank my fellow Dakkaites have reached in Halo Reach. I know the ranks themselves and the various armors and such I just want to know how far everyone has gotten. I just reached Major lastnight

Still Major. I spent a full week of constant play to get there (yes I have no life). I haven't played the game in weeks. I've been on a DA:O binge after seeing the trailer in the coolest cutscenes thread.

Lt.Colonel Grade 2 just about grade 3 then I'll be the highest ranks 'til the rank cap is taken off.

Warrant officer grade 2 (and 9/10ths). If I didn't split my time between work, netflix, And my friend sucking me into games of MW2, I would probably be a Major by now.

Y'know, I'm really not sure about offline rank caps. I would imagine that if you haven't taken your profile online it should remain uncapped. Otherwise how would the game know when to allow your rank to increase again?

Yeah, but you have to buy the Collar/Breacher chest first. That makes the same chest appear for purchase (75,000 cR) with a robotic arm.

Same with Emile's helmet. Buy EVA and it becomes viewable at Lt. Colonel, but you can't buy it until Commander (which is currently locked).

Yeah I knew you had to do the prerequisits for the arm and Emiles helmet I just didn't know what rank they became unlocked at. Hopefully the ranks aren't capped if you don't play online because that means I woulden't be able to get all the armor options.

Pretty sure they're capped. Probably coded into the disc.

I'm not so sure though. I first found out about the arm and helmet on bungies forum. 4 or 5 guys said they had them and 3 of them put up pics to. Now this was a couple weeks ago and since we know there is a cap on Xbox live ranks this means 1 of 2 things. Either 1 they where all full of it and they took the time to make very convincing pictures, or 2 the ranks aren't capped if you don't play live and that's how they got them.

If they are capped I'm not going to be too happy.
