Heyy guys, first lemme point out that this is most definately not meant to be a superb, curb-stomp list. Just good enough to give someone a good run for their money in the semi-competitive enviroment

so:

HQ

1. Captain "Calliel Arella"
w/ Lighning claw, artificer armour, jump pack - 155pts.

Troops.

1. Tactical Squad "Raven's Talons"
w/ +5 marines, plasma gun, missile launcher, Rhino:- hunter-killer missile, storm bolter - 235pts.

2. Tactical Squad "Icarus's Shadow"
w/ +5 marines, flamer, missile launcher, Rhino:- hunter-killer missile, storm bolter - 225pts.

3. Tactical Squad "Black Caw"
w/ +5 marines, plasma gun, missile launcher, Rhino:- hunter-killer missile, storm bolter - 235pts.

Elites.

1. Assualt Terminator Squad "Fleeting Darkness"
w/ 2 thunder hammers and storm shields. - 200pts.

Fast Attack

1. Assualt Squad "Murder of Night"
w/ power fist, storm shield. - 140pts.

Heavy Support.

1. Vindicator "Ravenclaw"
w/ hunter-killer missile, siege shield - 135pts.

2. Predator "Thunderer"
w/ twin-linked lascannon, lascannon sponsons, hunter-killer missile - 175pts.

Toal: 1500pts.

Any criticism would be appreciated!

Solid list, though it's very lacking in anti-horde; I would suggest giving some of the sergeants combi-flamers.

That thought had crossed my mind, however, in our local club there is only one tyranid player, no ork and no IG so this list isn't centered around the idea of hordes but thanks you for the input

Well.. you could drop few hunter-killer missiles and change that captain as Kayvaan Shrike instead.
That way you could infiltrate those termies closer to your target and with fleet, they can assault atleast during second turn.
Or infiltrate assault squad with Shrike for 1st turn assault.

Although I realise that all the special characters offer some significant improvements, I prefer to run lists that don't use them. I find it more realistic fluff-wise, especially when writing a battle-report to help develop the character's background, also, I find that it is much better to learn how to combat other players' special characters without throwing your own trump card at them.

Well, if you aren't keen on adding Shrike, then I would suggest dropping those Assault Terms all together, as they will likely do nothing the entire game without a transport. Also, additional add-on weapons to your vehicles are largely not worth the points. I would drop all of those (Storm bolters and HK's) to buff up the assault squad to full strength and to give your sergeants for your tactical squads power fists and matching Combi's. I think you end up with some points left after that, so if you have it another Vindicator or go with another Assault Squad (maybe even Vanguard Vets and Deep Strike them). Its thematic, if not extremely effective without DoA.

I'm not the greatest list builder, but I don't think I'd recommend sinking so many points into Hunter Killer missiles.

50 points could probably be better placed elsewhere.

I think you need to decide between your Assault Terminators or your Assault Squad. If you take the Termiantors, drop the Assault Squad and lose all of the extra wargear from your heavy support and pick up a Land Raider to transport them (in which case I would swap your Captain for a Librarian in Terminator Armor with a Storm Shield and Null Zone/The Avenger). If you choose to keep the Assault Squad, ditch the Terminators and fill them out, then pick up some Land Speeders to support them and give them Multi-Meltas and Heavy Flamers (which helps solve your anti-horde problem).

If you go for the Terminators with the Land Raider, ditch the Predator entirely and pick up a second Vindicator (both of them should be stripped down with no upgrades), and if you go with the Assault Squad drop the Vindicator and all of the upgrades from the Predator, then pick up one or two more Predators with Autocannons and Heavy Bolters.

Your current list is very scattered and the upgrades you have taken for your heavy support are really unnecessary. You would do better with quantity over quality in this case.

For reference I'd adjust the list as follows:

Option 1: Assault Marines
Captain (Jump Pack, Artificer Armor, Meltabombs, Relic Blade) - 175
10 Man Tactical Squad (Missile Launcher, Meltagun, Combi-Melta, Rhino) - 220
10 Man Tactical Squad (Missile Launcher, Meltagun, Combi-Melta, Rhino) - 220
10 Man Tactical Squad (Missile Launcher, Meltagun, Combi-Melta, Rhino) - 220
10 Man Assault Squad (Power Fist) - 215
2x Land Speeder (Multi-Melta, Heavy Flamer) - 140
2x Land Speeder (Multi-Melta, Heavy Flamer) - 140
Predator (Autocannon, Heavy Bolter Sponsions) - 85
Predator (Autocannon, Heavy Bolter Sponsions) - 85
Total 1,500

This list uses the Land Speeders to support the Assault Marines as a forward flanking detachment. The Relic Blade is a lot better for close combat than the single Lightning Claw, and I gave him a Meltabomb just in case the squad needs to take out a tank or something. The Predators sit back and provide fire support but pretty much everything else gets up close and personal. You could theoretically make the list a bit more defensive by dropping the Speeders for a pair of Rifleman Dreadnoughts with 2x TL Autocannons, which would give you 30 points left over to spend on whatever you like. You could drop the Artificer Armor from the Captain along with the Meltabombs, then ditch a few Assault Marines in order to fit in a third Predator, or use the 30 points to stick the Hunter-Killers back on the Tactical Rhinos.

Option 2: Assault Terminators
Librarian (Terminator Armor, Storm Shield, Null Zone, The Avenger) - 140
5 Assault Terminators (5x Thunder Hammers & Storm Shields) - 200
10 Man Tactical Squad (Missile Launcher, Flamer, Combi-Flamer, Rhino) - 215
10 Man Tactical Squad (Missile Launcher, Meltagun, Combi-Melta, Rhino) - 220
10 Man Tactical Squad (Missile Launcher, Meltagun, Combi-Melta, Rhino) - 220
Land Raider (Multi-Melta, Extra Armor) - 275
Vindicator - 115
Vindicator - 115
Total 1,500

This list plays more like a Death Star. The Librarian and Assault Terminators advance in the Land Raider supported by the Vindicators while the Tactical Squads advance behind the wall of high armor. Your opponent has several big threats to choose from and I've noticed that the Vindicators do an excellent job of drawing fire while still pulling their weight. Plus, they are inexpensive enough that if you lose one of them it's not a huge blow to the list. They also help offset the anti-horde problem much like the Land Speeders in the first list.

Of the two, the second list will be a lot more competitive (I would not be at all surprised to see it do well in tournaments to be honest) while the first one is more of a friendly list that can still hold its own if it has to. Both are of course just suggestions and you can feel free to use anything you like and scrap anything you don't. I realize you might not have all of the models required to field one or both of these, but they could be something to work toward. Play what you like, but I'd definitely consider being a little bit more frugal with your upgrades as they tend to take away from other aspects of the list and leave you with some gaps that could be easily filled.

Hope that helps!

I would have to agree with Aldarionn, the second list is a solid heavy hitter. And since you said you only have one Nid player your good with killing power, and advantage in take and hold/ seize ground missions.

Nobody ever defended anything successfully, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.

Thanks everyone for your advice! Especially Aldarionn!

On that note, I realise some of my choises would perhaps falter against a purely competitive list and some things don“t match well. However, this is also a quite fluff-based army (specifically Raven Guard) and I was quite hesitant to add in the Predator and Vindicator but decided that an all-infantry list would probably be quite an easy one to tackle, especially to the likes of mech IG (thinking toward the future here.)

Secondly, the lightning claw on the captain was a pure fluff choice on the regards that Raven Guard captains regularily employ them in their wargear.

Saying this however, I will give your secong list some serious consideration Aldarionn, you seem to be the person to go to for army lists!

Thanks again guys!

While true that RG use Claw weapons, it doesn't mean you can't make your Relic Blade nice and fluffy as a one large claw or a pair of power claws that strike like a Relic Blade (Relic Blade simply states you can't get an extra attack for having two CCW weapons, which works perfectly for a matched pair). Hitting at Strength 6 is really incredibly useful for SM.

You could add some MM/HF Land Speeders to replace stationary vehicles if you want to keep with the fast theme, or go with Typhoons with Multi-Meltas for a few more points.

I really have never been a fan of land speeders, they just seem a little bit too flimsy for my liking to be honest.
