Space marine Sternguard heavy flamer conversion..... need help!
My first thought was a simple swap, SoB heavy flamer pinned to space marine.
Idea number two (more complicated), using the Heavy weapons sprue (i.e. Multi Melta) and using a couple regular flamer barrel (ends?) and rigging up a tank of sort??
Any other ideas, suggestions, and/or pictures???

What about using a normal SM arms that hold a bolter and the heavy flamers that come with an Immolator? You can use the immolator as a Rhino and sell off the SoB bits to make back the extra 5 bucks it costs over a normal one and it leaves bits for 2 HF, 2 MM and 2 HB.

Let me know how it turns out, I was looking to use them to craft HB servitors for an Inq. Retinue.

the only trick is, since there is a right and a left... one will be easier to make then the other.... and they will need to be opposite.... hmmm.

The other great source of heavy flamer bits is the Guard tank accessory sprue. There is a hull mount job on each of them.

Baneblade accessory sprues come with 4 heavy flamers that you can make work with very little conversion work. I used them on my plague terminators just by filing down the top and shaving down a length of sprue to resemble the fuel tank. Guard Sentinels should also have some very usable Heavy Flamers, and you can always salvage one from the SM Terminator Sprues. Just model them in the same way as the one from LotD.

You could always ask if any Dakkaites have spare terminator heavy flamer arms? just cut the arm off and attatch to normal marine arm and there you go! looks the goods too! :-) i'll search at home when I get there and see if i have any spare? i've seen this done a few times and it works really well, looks very intergrated!

i do have some terminator arms myself.. my problem is.... i kinda want a unique look, the termi arms are thicker than regular arms, and i am worried it's gonna look funny. you have pics of this conversion??

I often interchange Termie Arms and normal CSM arms. The only reason they're thicker is because of the power cable. Cut it at the lower elbow joint (below the elbow guard) and it should be a seamless match.

Sorry i've tried to find it on the web but it was in a featured army in a fairly recent white dwarf, i'll have a look when I get home and let you know the issue number? they actually look really good and not out of place at all, he just cut the terminator arm away and glued it to a normal arm and it looked perfect and really tough, :-)

Here is a cool one I found on the Chapter House Studios website. Not sure how they made it.

Thats just the slightly foolish looking new Guard heavy flamer from the command squad sprue. It gets the idea across, but I just don't like that sculpt very much
