Hey all, i've just got back into 40k about about an 6 year hiatus and i've seen a lot of examples of true scale marines which i've decided to use for my SM chapter however i havn't seen anything in regards to assault marines. I'd hate to have my tac squads look awsome with puny assault marines running around. Any tutorials or ideas for how to model true scale assaults marines.

...About the same way you'd make a normal truescale marine, except with a bolt pistol and chainsword? Maybe toss on a jump pack?

Perhaps something like this?

I would be tempted to add a bit on to your jump packs to make them a bit bigger. Perhaps use some of the Ork jump packs as they are quite large?

I believe that one of the independent model companies linked to on this site does some pretty cool jump packs that are larger than the GW ones and may interest you. I will see if I can find a link.

Not sure which company it was, but it will be one of the ones linked in this thread. I'm sure several of them do them, so just take a look

I don't know if you need a large jump pack unless you're definition of "true scale" is what most people consider "exaggerated comically tall" scale. Remember, to make a true scale Marine you're basically making the legs a little longer, adding a slight bulk to the torso, and making tactical shoulderpads out of Terminator ones. Typical true scale figures are only three or four milimeters taller than regular ones.

The jump packs are large enough for regular scale marines, but I think for the far bulkier TS marines they would look too small.

I also think that the legs should be far chunkier than many people make when doing TS marines where they just increase the length - they look far too skinny even before you bulk up the torso.

Just IMO.

I use normal Smurf shoulder pads, makes the legs look bulkier. Just saying.

See, that's why I use terminator legs and chest plates.

As for the jet pack, I didn't want them to be any bigger.
