Just a question shouldn't squads in drop pods be able to get out see the ork horde yell get back in and shoot out of the open topped drop pod,
or just not get out at all?

This isn't a rules questions... You can't embark because the rules specifically say you can't.

Indeed.
This is, perhaps *crosses fingers in hope* worth some discussion as a prospective rule, so I'm going to move it to that board.

I'm sure that the travesty of having tooled up angels of death not actively disembarking and indeed, wasting a fair portion of points on a transport option, has some benefit under the current ruleset.
Shouldn't it?
Is there a rule preventing a player from not deploying from his/her pods?

Once a pod lands its doors are blown off .... so theyre going to go up a step and sit in their crash seats? while the orks come up and chop them?
You cant hide inside a drop pod .... its completely open to the outside after landing ....

You should be able to move into it like cover of some sort. I think that'd be nifty

I don't see the point; a drop pod can't be sucked back up into space as if it was reversed birthed.

I think I put this in the wrong forum or worded it wrong what i meant is shouldn't they program it not to open so they can wait or reclose the doors to nurse wounds or something
not as actually a game rule just thinking because they could lie in wait and orks would think they were rocks that look like drop pods

Marines don't nurse wounds, they kill stuff.
Now if this was IG, then mabye they would crawl under sleeping bags and try to hide.
And even a grot would look at a drop pod and think "damn, I can loot that big metal thing for a new throne to stick on top of the battle wagon".
And now, I want to see a DP converted into a deff roller.
