How are people liking Chariots nowadays? I've been considering taking a pair in my 2500 list instead of Cold One Knights. Two S5 and two S4 attacks on the charge in addition to impact hits doesn't seem too shabby for the points.

I know I was always concerned whenever WoC Chariots were on the table, but theirs are much scarier than Dark Elves.

They are great for 100 points i use them to run up on the flanks or pin a unit down with a warrior unit and then charge the flank with with it it almost always makes up its points and with 4 tough 5 3+ save wounds its a tough one to kill. I think you should definitely try them out you wont regret it.

In the three games I've taken one, first game it was charged and wiped out before it got to even breathe (partially my fault, figured he'd take the bait and charge the hydra in front of it).
Second game was over by turn two, he conceded, but on my first turn it did fail it's stupidity test and stumbled forward.
Third game it managed to take out a unit of 4 flamers BARELY, overran into a lord of change and was crunched.

So my experiences with it hasn't been great so far, but I committed a lot of money into the model (making an enslaved dragon counts as) so I'm sticking it out. Plus on paper it looks great, a steal for 100 points.

A unit of my saurus got thumped by one today. It did roll 6 on the impact hits.... and I just held, thanks to the nearby BSB slaan.

If you run 1, run 2 and tag tam thm, 1 is good, 2 are awesome.

Ouch, yeah, if they roll a 6 they can be very hurtful in combat...9 S5 hits (with hatred the riders will usually hit) plus the two S4 from the mounts can hurt some stuff!

Two would be fun...maybe my raiding party will find another dragon to enslave into war!

Theoryhammer for 8E, but I've played DE for a 20+ games this edition. I've been avoiding them so far, but I see them being a larger force multiplier when included in a list with hydras and other difficult targets. Odds are a hydra and CoC will destroy a unit or cripple it to the point of being able to wipe them out on your next turn for another charge. If you are packing hydras odds are those cannons won't be shooting at your chariots, and it increases your resilience to small arms fire.

Again this is a unit I would never take without a CoB BSB for the reroll. Likely I'd have them flank my generals spear unit with a Banner of Discipline. Then it's only a 1/144 chance of failing stupidity and you're not taking units that wouldn't already be great.

I think I'll give a pair of them a shot. In addition to my two Hydras (hydrae? meh) I think they'll make a good combination.
