I am on a crazed spree on apoc. I'm trying to scratch build then mold my own hell talons, blades, and a few other special items which wont be mentioned. But looking thru al the datasheets i was wondering what everyone thought of some of the lesser used heavies and if anyone has experience with them. Im intrigued by silver towers, bllood slaughterers, doomblasters, and slaneshi subjugators (even tho i think they should be much much cheaper)

thoughts anyone? this will probably be a 15k game.

They're all pretty trash except the plague tower.

Why is that? i mean i see the stats and it is good, but a transport with close range guns that only moves 6" a turn? i dont get it.

just a random thought but the scorpion is weak but AV13 front and a 12" assault, the subjugator essentially has 2 battle cannons, a flamestorm AP3 template, and a twin linked doomblaster, +1 SP to the scorpion but -1 AV on front and side. It also has 5 attacks over the scorpions 3 and can also fire no guns, run 2d6 and fleet while still using the S7 AP3 flamestorm template. I fee like it would be really good if it wasn't as much as a greater brass scorpion.

but what on the others?

My bad! this wasn't so much more tactics than to see if you guys could sell me on the idea of a superheavy

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

I've been really disappointed whenever I've looked at the CSM datasheets. Which is a shame because there is so much scope to create something damn cool.

My suggestion would be to think of something cool, then price it up using a VDR, such as this one. It seems pretty good points wise - though some of the newer weapons etc are not represented.

Be interested in what you can come up with

The greater or less brass scorpions fantastic as, essentially, suicide bombers.

They rush into the enemies lines. There, they start to kill stuff, and kill it quickly (AP3 flamers, etc) - including enemy superheavies, if they get too close.

So the enemy HAS to kill it. When they do it has a 50% chance of blasting out a S9 wave at the enemy. SD on the greater, if memory serves (too lazy to walk across and pick up IA7... ) - killing half the enemy.

The plague baneblade is very good.

The chaos super heavies seem underwhelming especially in comparison to the chaos formations like the Chaos Conclave.

Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, but refuse. They cling to the realm, or love, or the gods…illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is, but they’ll never know this. Not until it’s too late.
