So i bought Tellion the other day because I like his special rules and the way he looks. My problem though is that I run a Salamanders army, not Ultramarines. So should I paint Tellion blue or paint him green? The fluff says that he gets loaned out to other chapters, so painting him blue would make sense, but he would stick out like a sore thumb in my all green army and break the uniformity I was going for.

So what do you guys think?

Blue

Or

Green

In my army I play Telion as one of his pupils... someone who was sent from my chapter to the Ultra's to train under Telion, then came back to train the scouts of my chapter. Thus as a proetge' of Telion's he has his special abilities. It's not perfectly water-tight fluff wise but plausible enough all-in-all and no one's ever complained. Thus my "Telion" is in my chapter's colors... though I kept the Ultra symbol on his bolt gun figuring it might be a chapter specific varient & would have had to be given to him by Telion himself as a gift.

So I'd say... green.

I'm both chaotic and orderly. I value my own principles, and am willing to go to extreme lengths to enforce them, often trampling on the very same principles in the process. At best, I'm heroic and principled; at worst, I'm hypocritical and disorderly.

Space Marines do repaint their armor, usually in respect of whoever they're working with or for some ritual. Deathwing and Deathwatch are the most prominient examples, with Techmarines following closely behind. Paint Tellion in Salamanders chapter, but keep his right shoulderpad blue in honor of his Ultramarine Roots (which is as-per the custom of Deathwatch inductees, so as to not offend the machine spirit of the armor, although Tellion is not wearing Power armor).

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

Ok thanks for the input guys, I think I'm going to do what MechaEmperor7000 suggested. It makes fluffy sense and it won't ruin my uniformity. Great input, thanks again!
