Ok so I'm planning to actually get some painting done this weekend (it's been about a month since I last touched a paint brush (real life etc.)).
The last thing I started doing was my d&d character, an elven cleric of Lathander. I don't know how many of you know d&d, and the Forgotten Realms setting, but Lathander is sort of a sun god, known also as the morning lord.
So my character's bright blonde and has really pale skin but I want her (I know it's lame to play female characters but whatever) eyes to be glowing with a radiant morning light, which will also be pale. I'm a bit worried that all these light colours will just fade into each other. Any tips on achieving the look I'm going for without compromising the colour scheme?

Pale skin is a very light brown\pink colour, depending what you're after. Just make sure the bright eyes are a strong contrast. Mid tone blues, greens, reds all work pretty well against skin. White and yellow may not work as well.

You can always do some testing on another mini thats not painted.

Edit: i re-read your post. You want a bright glowing eyes. This can still be done but it depends on your painting skills. White eyes can give that undead look but may still work. For me, Id paint the eyes a mid tone lemon colour then paint the middle of the eye white as a highlight.

If you really want the eyes to look like they are glowing you can also drybrush around the outside of the eyes to give it a lighting effect. Im still trying to perfect the technique myself or I'd give more advise on it. There are a few tutorials on here, so if I were you I'd go look them up. Its a great effect.

You can always increase the eye makeup and /or shading to help accent the glowing effects.

Maybe use a mettalic paint for the eye itself?

So, you want glowing eyes? As in, they emanate light? That I would do with thinned down paints carefully applied around the eyes in successive layers until it looks glowing. This is called Object Source Lighting (OSL). Not a lot of tutorials on it and it is an advanced technique, so test it out first before committing to the final model.

Here is one tutorial I know might help:

If you mean you want the eyes themselves to glow, I question the scale of the model and the necessity of painting the eyes at all. At 25-28mm, I don't recommend eyes unless you want them wild-eyed or something very specific. Generally, scale-wise, you wouldn't see the eyes themselves.
