Amazing, isn't it? In Italy it's illegal to mow your lawn on a Saturday. In Germany it's illegal not to mow your lawn on a Saturday.

Castellammare di Stabia is latest city to make use of the extra powers handed down by Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi's government to mayors, in the effort to fight crime and confront anti social behaviour.

In other places they have banned sandcastles, kissing in cars, feeding stray cats, wooden clogs and the use of lawn mowers at weekends.

What I want to know is where the logic is in this. We must crack down on a crime! The way to do that is to stop the kids on beach building sandcastles!

Ah well. With the standard stability of the Italian government, this should all blow over soon enough.

Logic seldom has anything to do with the proposal of laws of this sort,it more often boils down to "I am offended/annoyed by this, that or the other...so this,that or the other must go."

I don't belive Frazz would ever ban mini skirts...feeding stray cats perhaps,but never mini skirts.

Besides,I don't see Frazz as the type to get tied up in all the bureaucracy and red tape of attempting to get laws passed to keep people off his lawn...he seems like the more "direct approach" sort of guy.
