Just realized that Sims 3 is coming to X360, PS3, and NDS, on the 29th afaik. The wii is getting Sims 3 in november. As I haven't got a copy at all, i might grab one whilst i can, yet I am quite confused as to what I should get.

For example, console games will now also include this karma system which afaik is using some wizardry as another way to decide your sim's fate. But no expansion packs are being launched for consoles atm, so should I get it for my PC, or my old wii? Some websites of relevance are below. Thank you!

If you have a pc that will run it get the Pc version. It's bound to be cheaper by now and you can use downloadable content.

Got it for my wife on the PS3 last friday, after handing over old gift certificates and vouchers it was only €22.50, not too shabby.

She's been waiting a long time for it (she doesn't like gaming on the PC/Laptop) and has been playing it the last couple of days every chance she got. Fine by me, that means I can spend a similar amount of time on a new release that is of interest to me.

I'm sure there will be expansions later, they'll milk this one for all it's worth just like they did on the PS2.

Anywayz, if you don't prefer console over PC gaming I'd say get the PC version. Like said, it's cheaper and downloadable content/mods are a great resource.

Well, I got it a couple of days ago half price on amazon, free next day delivery, but as you peoples may know, the PC / Mac version is quite buggy.

Basically, during install, it said there were some corrupted files. Then, it could also crash randomly after I chose the town (i only had Sunset Valley at the time). There were also corrupted sound files, only able to play white noise.

So I have tried to fix this with advice from previous angry gamers and EA, and have installed new drivers for my video card (which is super awesome and HD), messed around with DEP, played in Windowed Mode, uninstalled and reinstalled countless times, and I am now sending back for replacement.

I have checked the system requirements against the info in dxdiag (windows users: enter dxdiag in run (in the start menu), and it should tell you about all the relevant stats for your computer, so you can compare), and it shows I have more than twice the performance of the recommended minimum.

Sounds like a bit of bad luck Ymeloc, I'm running it pretty fine on a PC coming up to two years old, and I've got all three expansions on it and both stuff packs.

Hopefully the replacement will fix the issue.
