After watching the movie the Expandables I just had to start a mercenaries 40k army.
Do you have any tips for me?

Catachan and IG mix. Muscles and armor, lots of devlan mud and miss matched weapons.

Use bits from various armies or give them spoils of war!

As above, throw in some bloodaxe tribe orks (fluff confirmed mercs) in some counts-as situation, perhaps even some rogue trader squads (think flamboyant officer with a bunch of space pirate squaddies), eldar pirates and you've got a spicy smorgasbord of space mercs!

edit: In fact, if you end up using the guard codex, ogryns could easily be replaced with blood axe nob mercs!

i have decided on making it a space marine scout killteam, my regular opponent uses imperial guard, so ill probably have to face ig grunts in a killteam battle, any tips on weapon options?

dont really have any tips. the options available to you are limitless if your builidng a merc army. I think you should browse all the various troops and look at individual parts that you can use. Best of luck, post pics once you begin the army!
