I want to buy some for myself this christmas, and I was wondering what color to get. What color do you guys have? I know that color might be a silly thing to worry about, but as a teenager, I relish in other people's opinions

I've owned over a dozen pairs of Docs in my life, and I have to say they are simply the most comfortable boots I've ever put on my feet (as opposed to put on my head).
My current pair are simple 10 eye black basics, but in the past I've sported alot of 14 eye black, oxblood, green(shadup) and once had a pair that looked alot like the boots you see on Catchan minis.

I'd go with basic black or oxblood though, you'll get more wear out of them since they'll go with most outfits.

Basic black gives you the most flexibility of what you wear them with. Only pair of boots I still have left, at this point.

Yeah, I would echo what the other fine gentlemen in this thread have already said. Go with black, they will last you for years.

Go with purple, you'll look back thinking 'what in the sweet name of holy feth was I thinking?'

...unless you have like, three different purple outfits you wear out to the club, and (if so, likely also) the clothing budget to afford several different pairs of boots.

They're quite expensive now. My first pair cost me £20.

I was thinking about a couple colors before I asked (White and oxblood).

The white are probably the worst choice. they're boots. They WILL get gak on them

The grey ones are cool, but I'd rather see them in person first:

You could look on ebay, but they are expensive.
This is funny, as I am looking for a new pair of 14 eyelet boots. My boots right now have the rivets all over them and what not, and are ripping so I thought '' did I post this topic?''

So yeah, ebay.

I dunno...Ebay is corrupted with stores selling their crap for more than it's worth...I don't even like going on ebay anymore...

I don't own a pair, but damn, they look heavy as hell. Not the best for running in i'm guessing.

Nice and stompy though.

Uh-oh... someone's got a pair of purple DMs, haven't they?

@OP - I urge you in the strongest possible terms not to buy grey DMs. They are expensive - you need to make sure they will go with most clothes you own and that you won't get sick of the colour.

If you have bony heels, don't go for DM's. They've ripped my heels apart whenever I've worn them even for a short while :( This is the case for most boots though, so YMMV

Though I would echo the calls for black boots if you feel you have to wear boots.

Ahem, whats wrong with shaved heads?

I'm really upset now I could cry! I hate being a neometroskinhead, damn feelings!

I'm wearing my DMs at the moment and they are okay, not the boot that they used to be in my childhood.

Of course now I wear steel toe caps for health and safety reasons and not for what they were made for.

Partially true...while a great many White supremacist Skinheads do sport oxblood DMs,they are also very popular with Skinheads in general (the traditional non-racist variety).

Just pointing out that Skinhead/Oxblood DMs doesn't automatically=racist.

Nah, I was never the fashion plate. I was mostly "okay, black jeans, then pick a black shirt and a pair of boots" guy. I knew several of the above folks, though.

I'm wearing my DMs at the moment and they are okay, not the boot that they used to be in my childhood

Sadly in 2003 they stopped production in the UK and moved it to China and Thailand. So most modern Docs are not quite up to the quality level of George's 20-year-old pair. That said, thankfully three years ago they resumed production of some books in the UK, in their Vintage line. Those are really the ones to get if you want a pair that'll last.

Yeah, I was thinking them over and realized they're ugly as hell They're really shiny, which I don't want at all. To be honest though, the purple ones aren't terrible

Because it matched the bright red cross that is rather popular with KKK and some Neo Nazi groups. And I shave my head, but Im no racist

I used to own a pair of brown ones some years back. Best boots I ever owned. They were just the gak. Too bad after like 5 or so years they finally fell apart and had to go in the trash. Ive missed them ever since. They do cost alot now, but still you can wear them things for just about ever, so they are easily worth the price tag

I actually just bought some Army Standard issue boots.

I got them used, but the dude before me was a derp-head and covered them in polish. I had to scrape polish off the heel with my bare fingernail..Ugh, disgusting. But I got it all off and polished them up, and they look great! The leather was perfect underneath all the gunk.

The best part is....I got them for Nine dollars

Saved about 111$

I've also heard that the UK-made ones are much better. They sell some 'made-in-UK' ones for another 90$. They're made in China now, which bums me out.
