The finished first squad, representing squad Lorenzo in Space Hulk. In fact I better think of a more wolvish name for this lot. I am considering weathering the armour with battle damage / chipped paint etc. They look a little too clean.

Any name suggestions or ideas on battle damaged armour welcome.

Cheers

Well I'd assume that the armor was pristine before they left to board the hulk, so if they were relatively clean I think it'd make sense. However, you can grime up the greaves (boot-looking armor sections) with Badab Black to maybe represent all kinds of oily goop that has piled up over the centuries. You can put a nick or two on the greaves, elbow pads and pauldrons, also. Finally, you can splash some genestealer blood onto one or two of them, as if they just recently made a kill (I think this would be especially appropriate for the terminator wielding the power sword).

EDIT: If you're up to it, you can try a scorched or singed effect on the right side of your flamer-wielding terminator.

Cheers for the response. I found this article http://www.coolminiornot.com/article/aid/288/page/3 which shows a nice way to get chipped armour. Love the idea of a scorched effect on the flamer. Perhaps a little drybrush with black / brown / tin bitz. I may test it first on some spare parts.

I'm not a fan of blood on weapons. I'm not entirely sure why. It might be because I grew up with Nintendo. Perhaps

Nice neat paintjob on your Wolves. What are you going to do to the bases?

Bases - I haven't really thought about doing anymore. I had tinkered with the idea of using a little mesh, as they are on board a space hulk. Any ideas?

Helmets - Yeah, I don't like faces. Same with Star Wars figures. I like storm troopers and robots, but luke always looks silly. All the other termies I've built are wearing helmets too.

I like them. It will be a different look as opposed to the BA's on the board.

bases my tip is to use either cheap toy sets' walls and use then for the floor, or carve what you want out of Poly. A termie with a foot up on a generator or crate would be cool. keep up the good work

These are really nice; very evocative of the original models while being far nicer.

To get a decent scorch mark on the flamer, just wash it all Gryphonne Sepia, then work towards the nozzles with Devlan Mud then Badab Black at the very end. Do that and drill your barrels and you'll be good to go.

What kind of drill would one use? I really should drill out the holes. They do kinda look like early 90's space wolf termies. I think it's because the Assault on Black Reach poses are actually quite rigid. Although, there are space wolves bits thrown in too.

I need to get a fine paintbrush for the weathering. Super fine if you will. What kind of paintbrushes do you guys use? My local art store doesn't go much smaller than a 1......

Powerdrill for the lulz!

No, use a dremel tool or alike... Even a drill without a machine is fine.... Just make sure the drill you're using isn't MUCH thicker than the paperclips (or whatever) you use to assemble them with.... Just watch your little sausages... Fingers... Whatever!

Anyways, awesome paintjob... Yet again, i am just GREEN with jeaous rage!

Hopin' for some WIP in these bad boiiis!

You can get a nice little hobby drill from any hobby shop, and GW sells a surprisingly good one.

you should check majortom11's spacehulk thread, he got some nice bases from fenris games i think.

Plus he shows how he did some nice basing details.

I really like your terminators.
