Subject: Question about the lightning claws bits pack
|
 |

They look like pretty terrible lightning claws, to be honest However, I'm pretty desperate for them right now.
Are the terminator shoulder pads attached to them when you buy them? I intend for these to go on some chaos terminators, and crux terminatusii aren't very chaotic
How would you rate them on a scale of 1-10?
Thanks. Sorry if the question is a little blunt. I need answers before I go to sleep

They are one piece metal. I used some on chaos termies and they turned out good. You could file off the crux I guess, but I just left em on.

They are the old metal terminator claws. They aren't as big as the current plastic termies, but they still look okay.

I personally dislike the old metal termies (I own like 15 of them, they're short and stiff compared to the newer, more dynamic Terminators). Try mixing parts with a box of Wolf Guard Terminators. They have every single option under the sun, and you can file off the wolf insignia easy enough (plus most of them come with trim, which fits the Chaos scheme).

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

I rebased my old metal terminators (which probably makes them technically illegal) on 40mm bases, with a bit more rubble and stuff to give them a slight boost in height. Also made up some of the extra bits like the gardbraces ( the little shields that protect the shoulder/armpit) and loin guard.
They now blend quite well with the newer plastics, certainly once they're on the game table.

The plastic terminator lord set comes with a pair of termy lightning claws that are fantastic and chaosy. I think you can get them from most places that sell bits (like thewarstore.com) for not TOO much. If cost is an issue then you're SOL.

A good option. Id recommend ebay or the bits place of your choice for them. Either regular or chaos LCs are readily available...however they can get a bit pricey.

I was going to suggest the chaos terminator lord, or get hold of a bunch of the plastic vanilla marine ones and chaos them up with GS.

This is a boldfaced lie. Warstore has them for $11.99 a pair. At that price you might as well just be buying Terminator lords for each Terminator in the squad.

@ $11.99 i think that is a bit extreme, i can get a pair of Lc for £3(£1.50 each)

Perhaps, but regular CC Terminator claws are $4.99 a pair, which I think is what the guy meant.
Regardless, boldfaced lie seems a little harsh.

No, I meant the 11.99 wasn't too bad. It all depends how badly you want 'em! Tbh, I had already made a chaos term lord and had a spare set o' the claws sitting around when I needed a pair.
I wouldn't call it a bold faced lie, just an oversight... I hadn't actually checked the price.
