From their latest missive.... seemingly for the UK only according to the version I got. perhaps our overseas brethren will get a similar offer as well.
advantages of being a subscriber to the Games Workshop newsletter, but this month we have a particularly awesome benefit, available exclusively to our newsletter readers.
Until 1st January, with every purchase of a piece of Citadel Scenery worth £18 or more (€23.50), you will receive two free pots of Citadel paint to help you paint it up!
All you need to do is print out this newsletter, take it to your local Games Workshop Hobby Centre and show it to a member of staff when you want to redeem this offer.
This is a fantastic opportunity to purchase a piece of scenery, get it assembled and painted up, ready to enter into the Citadel Scenery Competition on 4th December.
You can subscribe to the GW newsletter -- disclaimer, contents may vary from what you might expect from the term "newsletter" every now and again -- on the GW site.
The scenary they produce, odd exception aside I guess, is generally pretty sweet, it sure has made playing 40K ( and WFB ?) a lot easier. and free stuff is always good.

This email newsletter went out in the US as well, though as is sometimes the case GW did forget to replace some UK specifics with those relevant to the US. And I'll agree about the quality of the GW scenery kits. I have tons of them. They are fun from a modeling perspective and add a lot of character to the game table too.

You most likely will get it unless of course it was a total cock-up and they caught themselves before any more went out. Those mass e-mailings don't hit everyone's inbox simultaneously. In fact, I sometimes have quite a bit of trouble with that and don't get it till a day after nearly everyone else. When it finally arrives the time stamp will show that it went out 24 hours or more before. The Internet is full of pocket universes where these things can hide for a while before being dislodged.

Sounds good. Invested in the Megapaint Set this year, so I guess I'll just get two pots of Charadon Granite. Keep the supplies up like.
Love that colour me.

Dude, check with your local store would be my advice. They might honour it anyways.

Or alternatively you can call GW and place an order over the phone, explain the situation.
I'd be very surprised if they didn't honor it in that case.

Look on the bright side – at least it wasn’t another waste of bandwidth “ We’ve got some new models coming out, but we’re not going to tell you what they are!!!” newsletter. Kanluwen wrote:Or alternatively you can call GW and place an order over the phone, explain the situation. I'd be very surprised if they didn't honor it in that case. They have no reason to, especially if it’s a different country we’re talking about. Now, granted, GW offers tend to be somewhat universal (the free shipping one mightn’t have started at the same time in Oz compared to the US, but it eventually arrived) so this may be a moot point in a few weeks or even a few days, but there’s still no reason for one group in one country to honour a deal from another group in a completely different country.

Is there a GW Europe though? I've always been under the impression they fall under GW-UK for the most part.

GW Northern Europe falls under GW UK, with exception of France, Germany, Spain and Italy really.

All offers are though, no?
And to be honest, this is pretty generous. Get an £18 Scenery Kit (think that's the cheapest, unless they allow you to count Walls!) and get £4.50 worth of paint for free. Of course, no doubt the hope is that you'll grab your two free paints, and buy a few more, perhaps Brushes and Glue into the bargain, upping the overall sale. Still not a bad offer overall.

All offers are marketing and it didn't seem veiled to me, not that there's anything wrong with that. Offers are obviously designed to increase sales in any business, it's not a secret nefarious plot.
It appears from the huge amount of UK specific info in that newsletter that went out yesterday that it may have been sent to some of us if not all of us USA customers in error. I received another, different newsletter today.
