Hi everyone, im working on a project for a painting contest at my local games workshop and i wanted to incorporate something different into my model and i was wondering how someone would go about making Flames.

My Second question is about how to make saliva dripping like so:

Hot glue can be a pretty effective saliva/slime/viscous fluid medium.

I was thinking that but wouldnt the glue cause the plastic to melt?

I believe it was RAFF on this site that described how he made the saliva/venom. He took one of his wifes hairs and used white glue on it, then let it dry.

The glue used on hot glue guns melts at pretty low temperatures. There area a couple of tutorials on this site about using hot glue for effects. They shouldn't affect plastic models if you're careful.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

Why does that just seem so...creepy.

because it is creepy! I just imagine him waiting for his wife to call it a night, then going into the room, solid snake style, and yanking out a single strand of hair for his modeling project. I dont know, the image in my head is hilarious, maybe im running to far with it though....the dude is an excellent painter though!

I believe most of us who frequently scratch build/convert minis have done this sort of thing...perhaps not going so far as to snatch a hair from our slumbering Missus head...but,I have to admit to several raids on my Sons toy box.

Personally I think the idea of letting white glue dry on hair (swiped or your own) to create saliva is brilliant.

The test looks ok. You might want to try and gloop it a bit more as if it is dripping.
